וַיְהִ֗י בְּהִשָּׁמַ֤ע דְּבַר הַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙ וְדָת֔וֹ וּבְהִקָּבֵ֛ץ נְעָר֥וֹת רַבּ֖וֹת אֶל שׁוּשַׁ֣ן הַבִּירָ֑ה אֶל יַ֣ד הֵגָ֔י וַתִּלָּקַ֤ח אֶסְתֵּר֙ אֶל בֵּ֣ית הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ אֶל יַ֖ד הֵגַ֥י שֹׁמֵ֖ר הַנָּשִֽׁים׃
So it came to pass, when the king's commandment and his decree was heard, and when many maidens were gathered together unto Shushan the palace, to the custody of Hegai, that Esther was brought also unto the king's house, to the custody of Hegai, keeper of the women.
Sucedió, pues, que cuando se divulgó el mandato y el decreto del rey, y fueron reunidas muchas jóvenes en Susa la capital bajo la custodia de Hegai, Ester también fue llevada a la casa del rey, bajo la custodia de Hegai, guarda de las mujeres.
