כִּ֣י עֲבָדִ֡ים אֲנַ֡חְנוּ וּבְעַבְדֻתֵ֡נוּ לֹ֡א עֲזָבָ֡נוּ אֱלֹהֵ֡ינוּ וַיַּ֣ט עָלֵ֡ינוּ חֶ֡סֶד לִפְנֵ֣י מַלְכֵ֣י פָרַ֡ס לָ֡תֶת לָ֡נוּ מִחְיָ֡ה לְרוֹמֵ֡ם אֶת בֵּ֣ית אֱלֹהֵ֡ינוּ וּלְהַעֲמִ֡יד אֶת חָרְבֹתָ֡יו וְלָ֡תֶת לָ֡נוּ גָּדֵ֡ר בִּיהוּדָ֡ה וּבִירוּשָׁלִָֽם׃
For we were bondmen; yet our God hath not forsaken us in our bondage, but hath extended mercy unto us in the sight of the kings of Persia, to give us a reviving, to set up the house of our God, and to repair the desolations thereof, and to give us a wall in Judah and in Jerusalem.
Porque somos esclavos. Sin embargo, nuestro Dios no nos ha abandonado en nuestra esclavitud, sino que ha extendido hacia nosotros su misericordia ante los reyes de Persia, para concedernos algún alivio, para reconstruir la casa de nuestro Dios, reparar sus ruinas y darnos protección en Judea y Jerusalén.
