γέγραπται γάρ, Εὐφράνθητι, στεῖρα, ἡ οὐ τίκτουσα· ῥῆξον καὶ βόησον, ἡ οὐκ ὠδίνουσα· ὅτι πολλὰ τὰ τέκνα τῆς ἐρήμου μᾶλλον ἢ τῆς ἐχούσης τὸν ἄνδρα.
For it is written, Rejoice, thou barren that bearest not; break forth and cry, thou that travailest not: for the desolate hath many more children than she which hath an husband.
Porque está escrito: «Alégrate, mujer estéril, que no has dado a luz; prorrumpe en gritos de alegría tú que nunca tuviste dolores de parto, porque más son los hijos de la desamparada que los de la que tiene marido».
