נְבוּכַדְנֶצַּ֣ר מַלְכָּ֡א לְכָל עַמְמַיָּ֣א אֻמַּיָּ֣א וְלִשָּׁ֣נַיָּ֡א דִּ֣י דָֽיְרִ֣ין בְּכָל אַרְעָ֑א שְׁלָֽמְכֹ֖ון יִשְׂגֵּֽא׃

KJVNebuchadnezzar the king, unto all people, nations, and languages, that dwell in all the earth; Peace be multiplied unto you.

Nebuchadnezzar the king to all peoples, nations, and languages, that dwell in all the earth: Peace be multiplied to you!

אָתַ֗יָּא וְתִמְהַיָּ֣א דִּי עֲבַ֣ד עִמִּ֣י אֱלָהָ֡א עִלָּאָ֡ה שְׁפַ֣ר קֳדָמַ֣י לְהַחֲוָיָֽה׃

KJVI thought it good to shew the signs and wonders that the high God hath wrought toward me.

It has seemed good to me to show the signs and wonders that the Most High God has done for me.

אָתוֹהִ֕י כְּמָ֖ה רַבְרְבִ֑ין וְתִמְהוֹהִ֥י כְּמָ֖ה תַקִּיפִ֑ין מַלְכוּתֵ֗הּ מַלְכ֣וּת עָלַם֙ וְשָׁלְטָנֵ֔הּ עִם דָּ֥ר וָדָֽר׃

KJVHow great are his signs! and how mighty are his wonders! his kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and his dominion is from generation to generation.

How great are his signs, how mighty his wonders! His kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and his dominion endures from generation to generation.

אֲנָ֛ה נְבוּכַדְנֶצַּ֥ר שְׁלֵ֖ה הֲוֵ֑ית בְּבֵיתִ֕י וְרַעְנַ֖ן בְּהֵיכְלִֽי׃

KJVI Nebuchadnezzar was at rest in mine house, and flourishing in my palace:

I, Nebuchadnezzar, was at ease in my house and prospering in my palace.

חֶלֶם֙ חֲזֵ֔ית וִֽידַחֲלִנַּ֑נִי וּמַנְדְּעַ֤י עַל מִשְׁכְּבִי֙ וְחֶזְוֵ֣י רֵאשִׁ֔י יְבַהֲלֻנַּֽנִי׃

KJVI saw a dream which made me afraid, and the thoughts upon my bed and the visions of my head troubled me.

I saw a dream that made me afraid. As I lay in bed the fancies and the visions of my head alarmed me.

וּמִנִּ֣י שִׂ֣ים טְעֵ֡ם לְהַעֲלָ֣ה קֳדָמַ֣י לְכֹ֣ל חַכִּימֵ֣י בָבֶ֑ל דִּ֣י פְשַׁ֣ר חֶלְמָ֣א יְהוֹדְעֻנַּֽנִי׃

KJVTherefore made I a decree to bring in all the wise men of Babylon before me, that they might make known unto me the interpretation of the dream.

So I made a decree that all the wise men of Babylon should be brought before me, that they might make known to me the interpretation of the dream.

בֵּ֣אדַיִן֩ עָלִּ֨ין חַרְטֻמַּיָּ֤א אָשְׁפַיָּא֙ כַּשְׂדָּאֵ֔י וְגָזְרַיָּ֑א וְחֶלְמָ֣א אָמַ֣ר אֲנָ֣ה קֳדָמֵיהֹ֑ון וּפִשְׁרֵ֕הּ לָ֥א מְהוֹדְעִ֖ין לִֽי׃

KJVThen came in the magicians, the astrologers, the Chaldeans, and the soothsayers: and I told the dream before them; but they did not make known unto me the interpretation thereof.

Then the magicians, the enchanters, the Chaldeans, and the astrologers came in, and I told them the dream, but they could not make known to me its interpretation.

עַד אָחֳרֵין עַ֗ל קֳדָמַ֞י דָּנִיֵּ֞אל דִּֽי שְׁמֵ֣הּ בֵּלְטְשַׁאצַּ֡ר כְּשֻׁ֣ם אֱלָהִ֡י וְדִי רוּחַ אֱלָהִ֣ין קַדִּישִׁ֣ין בֵּ֑הּ וְחֶלְמָ֣א קֳדָמוֹהִ֣י אֲמַ֣רֶת׃

KJVBut at the last Daniel came in before me, whose name was Belteshazzar, according to the name of my god, and in whom is the spirit of the holy gods: and before him I told the dream, saying,

At last Daniel came in before me—he who was named Belteshazzar after the name of my god, and in whom is the spirit of the holy gods—and I told him the dream, saying:

בֵּלְטְשַׁאצַּ֣ר רַב חַרְטֻמַּיָּ֗א דִּ֣י אֲנָ֣ה יָדַ֡עַת דִּֽי רוּחַ אֱלָהִ֣ין קַדִּישִׁ֣ין בָּ֑ךְ וְכָל רָ֣ז לָ֣א אָנֵ֣ס לָ֑ךְ חֶזְוֵ֣י חֶלְמִ֣י דִֽי חֲזֵ֣ית וּפִשְׁרֵ֣הּ אֱמַֽר׃

KJVO Belteshazzar, master of the magicians, because I know that the spirit of the holy gods is in thee, and no secret troubleth thee, tell me the visions of my dream that I have seen, and the interpretation thereof.

O Belteshazzar, chief of the magicians, because I know that the spirit of the holy gods is in you and that no mystery is too difficult for you, tell me the visions of my dream that I saw and their interpretation.

וְחֶזְוֵ֣י רֵאשִׁ֣י עַל מִשְׁכְּבִ֡י חָזֵ֣ה הֲוֵ֣ית וַהֲ֡א אִילָ֤ן בְּגֹ֣וא אַרְעָ֣א וְרוּמֵ֣הּ שַׂגִּ֑יא׃

KJVThus were the visions of mine head in my bed; I saw, and behold a tree in the midst of the earth, and the height thereof was great.

The visions of my head as I lay in bed were these: I saw, and behold, a tree in the midst of the earth, and its height was great.

רְבָ֥ה אִילָנָ֖א וּתְקִ֑ף וְרוּמֵ֣הּ יִמְטֵ֣א לִשְׁמַיָּ֣א וְחֶזְוֵ֣הּ לְסֹ֣וף כָּל אַרְעָֽא׃

KJVThe tree grew, and was strong, and the height thereof reached unto heaven, and the sight thereof to the end of all the earth:

The tree grew and became strong, and its top reached to heaven, and it was visible to the end of the whole earth.

עָפְיֵ֣הּ שַׁפִּ֣יר וְאִנְבֵּ֣הּ שַׂגִּ֡יא וּמָזֽוֹן לְכֹ֣לָּ֣א בֵ֑הּ תְּחֹ֣תוֹהִי תַּטְלֵ֣ל חֵיוַ֣ת בָּרָ֗א וּבְעַנְפוֹהִ֞י יִדוּרוּן֩ צִפֲּרֵ֣י שְׁמַיָּ֡א וּמִנֵּ֣הּ יִתְּזִ֣ין כָּל בִּשְׂרָֽא׃

KJVThe leaves thereof were fair, and the fruit thereof much, and in it was meat for all: the beasts of the field had shadow under it, and the fowls of the heaven dwelt in the boughs thereof, and all flesh was fed of it.

Its leaves were beautiful and its fruit abundant, and in it was food for all. The beasts of the field found shade under it, and the birds of the heavens lived in its branches, and all flesh was fed from it.

חָזֵ֣ה הֲוֵ֣ית בְּחֶזְוֵ֣י רֵאשִׁ֣י עַל מִשְׁכְּבִ֡י וַהֲ֡א עִיר֩ וְקַדִּ֨ישׁ מִן שְׁמַיָּ֜א נָחֵֽת׃

KJVI saw in the visions of my head upon my bed, and, behold, a watcher and an holy one came down from heaven;

I saw in the visions of my head as I lay in bed, and behold, a watcher, a holy one, came down from heaven.

קָרֵ֣א בְחַ֡יִל וְכֵן אָמַ֗ר גֹּ֧דּוּ אִֽילָנָ֛א וְקַצִּ֥צוּ עַנְפֹ֖והִי אַ֣תַּרוּ עָפְיֵ֣הּ וּבַדַּ֣רוּ אִנְבֵּ֑הּ תְּנֻ֣ד חֵיוְתָ֣א מִן תַּחְתּ֣וֹהִי וְצִפְּרַיָּ֣א מִן עַנְפֹ֡והִי׃

KJVHe cried aloud, and said thus, Hew down the tree, and cut off his branches, shake off his leaves, and scatter his fruit: let the beasts get away from under it, and the fowls from his branches:

He called out loudly and said thus: Chop down the tree and lop off its branches, strip off its leaves and scatter its fruit. Let the beasts flee from under it and the birds from its branches.

בְּרַם֙ עִקַּ֣ר שָׁרְשׁ֔וֹהִי בְּאַרְעָ֖א שְׁבֻ֑קוּ וּבְאֶסּוּר֩ דִּ֨י פַרְזֶ֜ל וּנְחָ֗שׁ בְּדִתְאָ֣א דִ֣י בָרָ֗א וּבְטַ֣ל שְׁמַיָּ֡א יִצְטַבַּ֡ע וְעִם חֵיוְתָ֡א חֲלָ֡קֵהּ בַּעֲשַׂ֣ב אַרְעָֽא׃

KJVNevertheless leave the stump of his roots in the earth, even with a band of iron and brass, in the tender grass of the field; and let it be wet with the dew of heaven, and let his portion be with the beasts in the grass of the earth:

But leave the stump of its roots in the earth, bound with a band of iron and bronze, amid the tender grass of the field. Let him be wet with the dew of heaven. Let his portion be with the beasts in the grass of the earth.

לְבָבֵ֥הּ מִן אֲנָשָׁ֖א יְשַׁנּ֑וֹן וּלְבַ֣ב חֵיוָ֣ה יִתְיְהִ֣ב לֵ֑הּ וְשִׁבְעָ֥ה עִדָּנִ֖ין יַחְלְפ֥וּן עֲלֽוֹהִי׃

KJVLet his heart be changed from man's, and let a beast's heart be given unto him; and let seven times pass over him.

Let his mind be changed from a man's, and let a beast's mind be given to him; and let seven periods of time pass over him.

בִּגְזֵרַ֤ת עִירִין֙ פִּתְגָמָ֔א וּמֵאמַ֥ר קַדִּישִׁ֖ין שְׁאֵֽלְתָ֑א עַד דְּבָרַ֣ת דִּ֣י יִנְדְּע֣וּן חַיַּ֗יָּא דִּ֤י שַׁלִּיט֙ עִלָּאָ֔ה בְּמַלְכ֣וּת אֲנָשָׁ֗א וּלְמַ֣ן דִּ֣י יִצְבֵּ֣א יִתְּנִנַּ֣הּ וּשְׁפַ֣ל אֲנָשִׁ֣ים יְקִ֣ים עֲלַ֡הּ׃

KJVThis matter is by the decree of the watchers, and the demand by the word of the holy ones: to the intent that the living may know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will, and setteth up over it the basest of men.

The sentence is by the decree of the watchers, the decision by the word of the holy ones, to the end that the living may know that the Most High rules the kingdom of men and gives it to whom he will and sets over it the lowliest of men.

דְּנָ֤ה חֶלְמָא֙ חֲזֵ֔ית אֲנָ֖ה מַלְכָּ֖א נְבוּכַדְנֶצַּ֥ר וְאַנְתְּ֣ה בֵּלְטְשַׁאצַּ֡ר פִּשְׁרָ֣א אֱמַ֡ר כָּל קֳבֵ֣ל דִּ֣י כָל חַכִּימֵ֣י מַלְכוּתִ֗י לָ֛א יָכְלִ֥ין פִּשְׁרָ֖א לְהוֹדָעֻתַ֑נִי וְאַנְתְּ֣ה כָהֵ֣ל דִּ֣י רוּחַ אֱלָהִ֣ין קַדִּישִׁ֣ין בָּֽךְ׃

KJVThis dream I king Nebuchadnezzar have seen. Now thou, O Belteshazzar, declare the interpretation thereof, forasmuch as all the wise men of my kingdom are not able to make known unto me the interpretation: but thou art able; for the spirit of the holy gods is in thee.

This dream I, King Nebuchadnezzar, saw. And you, O Belteshazzar, tell me the interpretation, because all the wise men of my kingdom are not able to make known to me the interpretation, but you are able, for the spirit of the holy gods is in you.

בֵּ֣אדַיִן֩ דָּנִיֵּ֨אל דִּ֤י שְׁמֵהּ֙ בֵּלְטְשַׁאצַּ֔ר אֶתְבְּהַ֥ל כִּשְׁעָ֖ה חֲדָ֑ה וְרַעְיֹנֹ֙והִי֙ יְבַהֲלֻנֵּ֔הּ עָנֵ֤ה מַלְכָּא֙ וְאָמַ֔ר בֵּלְטְשַׁאצַּ֕ר חֶלְמָ֥א וּפִשְׁרֵ֖הּ אַל יְבַהֲלָ֑ךְ עָנֵ֤ה בֵּלְטְשַׁאצַּר֙ וְאָמַ֔ר מָרִ֗י חֶלְמָ֤א לְשָֽׂנְאָ֙ךְ֙ וּפִשְׁרֵ֔הּ לְעָרָ֖ךְ׃

KJVThen Daniel, whose name was Belteshazzar, was astonied for one hour, and his thoughts troubled him. The king spake, and said, Belteshazzar, let not the dream, or the interpretation thereof, trouble thee. Belteshazzar answered and said, My lord, the dream be to them that hate thee, and the interpretation thereof to thine enemies.

Then Daniel, whose name was Belteshazzar, was dismayed for a while, and his thoughts alarmed him. The king answered and said: Belteshazzar, let not the dream or the interpretation alarm you. Belteshazzar answered and said: My lord, may the dream be for those who hate you and its interpretation for your enemies!

אִֽילָנָ֛א דִּ֥י חֲזַ֖יְתָ דִּ֣י רְבָ֣ה וּתְקִ֣ף וְרוּמֵ֣הּ יִמְטֵ֣א לִשְׁמַיָּ֣א וְחֶזְוֵ֣הּ לְכָל אַרְעָֽא׃

KJVThe tree that thou sawest, which grew, and was strong, whose height reached unto the heaven, and the sight thereof to all the earth;

The tree you saw, which grew and became strong, so that its top reached to heaven, and it was visible to the end of the whole earth,

וְעָפְיֵ֣הּ שַׁפִּ֣יר וְאִנְבֵּ֣הּ שַׂגִּ֡יא וּמָז֣וֹן לְכֹ֣לָּ֣א בֵ֑הּ תְּחֹ֣תוֹהִי יְד֣וּרָן חֵיוַ֣ת בָּרָ֗א וּבְעַנְפֹ֣והִי יִשְׁכְּנָ֣ן צִפֲּרֵ֣י שְׁמַיָּֽא׃

KJVWhose leaves were fair, and the fruit thereof much, and in it was meat for all; under which the beasts of the field dwelt, and upon whose branches the fowls of the heaven had their habitation:

whose leaves were beautiful and its fruit abundant, and in which was food for all, under which beasts of the field found shade, and in whose branches the birds of the heavens lived—

אַנְתְּ֣ה הוּ֣א מַלְכָּ֡א דִּ֣י רְבַ֣יְת וּתְקֵ֡פְתְּ וּרְבוּתָ֣ךְ רְבָ֣ת וּמְטָ֣ת לִשְׁמַיָּ֣א וְשָׁלְטָנָ֣ךְ לְסֹ֣וף אַרְעָֽא׃

KJVIt is thou, O king, that art grown and become strong: for thy greatness is grown, and reacheth unto heaven, and thy dominion to the end of the earth.

it is you, O king, who have grown and become strong. Your greatness has grown and reaches to heaven, and your dominion to the ends of the earth.

וְדִ֣י חֲזָ֣ה מַלְכָּ֡א עִ֣יר וְקַדִּ֡ישׁ נָחֵ֣ת מִן שְׁמַיָּ֡א וְאָמַ֣ר גֹּד֡וּ אִֽילָנָ֡א וְחַבְּל֡וּהִי בְּרַ֣ם עִקַּ֣ר שָׁרְשֹׁ֣והִי בְּאַרְעָ֣א שְׁבֻ֑קוּ וּבְאֶסּוּר֩ דִּ֨י פַרְזֶ֜ל וּנְחָ֗שׁ בְּדִתְאָ֣א דִ֣י בָרָ֗א וּבְטַ֣ל שְׁמַיָּ֡א יִצְטַבַּ֡ע וְעִם חֵיוַ֣ת בָּרָ֡א חֲלָ֡קֵהּ עַ֣ד דִּֽי שִׁבְעָ֣ה עִדָּנִ֣ין יַחְלְפ֣וּן עֲלֽוֹהִי׃

KJVAnd whereas the king saw a watcher and an holy one coming down from heaven, and saying, Hew the tree down, and destroy it; yet leave the stump of the roots thereof in the earth, even with a band of iron and brass, in the tender grass of the field; and let it be wet with the dew of heaven, and let his portion be with the beasts of the field, till seven times pass over him;

And as the king saw a watcher, a holy one, coming down from heaven and saying, Chop down the tree and destroy it, but leave the stump of its roots in the earth, bound with a band of iron and bronze, in the tender grass of the field, and let him be wet with the dew of heaven, and let his portion be with the beasts of the field, till seven periods of time pass over him,

דְּנָ֥ה פִשְׁרָ֖א מַלְכָּ֑א וּגְזֵרַ֤ת עִלָּאָה֙ הִ֔יא דִּ֥י מְטָ֖ת עַל מָרִ֥י מַלְכָּֽא׃

KJVThis is the interpretation, O king, and this is the decree of the most High, which is come upon my lord the king:

this is the interpretation, O king: It is a decree of the Most High, which has come upon my lord the king,

וְלָ֤ךְ טָֽרְדִין֙ מִן אֲנָשָׁ֔א וְעִם חֵיוַ֥ת בָּרָ֖א לֶהֱוֵ֣ה מְדוֹרָ֑ךְ וְעִשְׂבָּ֧א כְתוֹרִ֣ין לָ֣ךְ יְטַֽעֲמ֡וּן וּמִטַּ֣ל שְׁמַיָּ֡א לָ֣ךְ מְצַבְּעִ֡ין וְשִׁבְעָ֣ה עִדָּנִ֣ין יַחְלְפ֣וּן עֲלָ֡ךְ עַד דִּֽי תִנְדַּ֣ע דִּֽי שַׁלִּ֣יט עִלָּאָ֣ה בְּמַלְכ֣וּת אֲנָשָׁ֣א וּלְמַ֣ן דִּ֣י יִצְבֵּ֣א יִתְּנִנַּֽהּ׃

KJVThat they shall drive thee from men, and thy dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field, and they shall make thee to eat grass as oxen, and they shall wet thee with the dew of heaven, and seven times shall pass over thee, till thou know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will.

that you shall be driven from among men, and your dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field. You shall be made to eat grass like an ox, and you shall be wet with the dew of heaven, and seven periods of time shall pass over you, till you know that the Most High rules the kingdom of men and gives it to whom he will.

וְדִ֤י אֲמַ֙רוּ֙ לְמִשְׁבַּ֔ק עִקַּ֖ר שָׁרְשֵׁ֣י אִֽילָנָ֑א מַלְכוּתָ֣ךְ לָ֣ךְ קַיָּמָ֗ה מִן דִּ֤י תִנְדַּע֙ דִּ֣י שַׁלְּט֣וּן שְׁמַיָּ֔א׃

KJVAnd whereas they commanded to leave the stump of the tree roots; thy kingdom shall be sure unto thee, after that thou shalt have known that the heavens do rule.

And as it was commanded to leave the stump of the roots of the tree, your kingdom shall be confirmed for you from the time that you know that Heaven rules.

לָהֵ֣ן מַלְכָּ֗א מִלְכִּי֙ יִשְׁפַּ֣ר עֲלָ֔ךְ וַחֲטָאָ֥ךְ בְּצִדְקָ֖ה פְּרֻ֑ק וַעֲוָיָתָ֥ךְ בְּמִחַ֣ן עֲנָ֔יִן הֵ֛ן תֶּהֱוֵ֥א אַרְכָ֖ה לִשְׁלֵוְתָֽךְ׃

KJVWherefore, O king, let my counsel be acceptable unto thee, and break off thy sins by righteousness, and thine iniquities by shewing mercy to the poor; if it may be a lengthening of thy tranquillity.

Therefore, O king, let my counsel be acceptable to you: break off your sins by practicing righteousness, and your iniquities by showing mercy to the oppressed, that there may perhaps be a lengthening of your prosperity.

כֹּ֣לָּה מְטָ֔א עַל נְבוּכַדְנֶצַּ֖ר מַלְכָּֽא׃

KJVAll this came upon the king Nebuchadnezzar.

All this came upon King Nebuchadnezzar.

לִקְצָ֥ת יַרְחִ֖ין תְּרֵ֣י עֲשַׂ֑ר עַ֣ל הֵיכַ֣ל מַלְכוּת֣ בָּבֶ֡ל מְהַלֵּ֣ךְ הֲוָ֣ה מַלְכָּֽא׃

KJVAt the end of twelve months he walked in the palace of the kingdom of Babylon.

At the end of twelve months he was walking on the roof of the royal palace of Babylon,

עָנֵ֤ה מַלְכָּא֙ וְאָמַ֔ר הֲלָ֧א דָ֣א הִ֣יא בָּבֶ֣ל רַבְּתָ֗א דִּ֣י אֲנָ֣ה בְנַיְ֡תַהּ לְבֵ֣ית מַלְכ֡וּ בִּתְקַ֣ף חִסְנִ֡י וְלִ֣יקָר הֲדָרִֽי׃

KJVThe king spake, and said, Is not this great Babylon, that I have built for the house of the kingdom by the might of my power, and for the honour of my majesty?

and the king answered and said: Is not this great Babylon, which I have built by my mighty power as a royal residence and for the glory of my majesty?

עוֹד֩ מִלְּתָ֨א בְּפֻ֜ם מַלְכָּ֗א קָל֩ מִן שְׁמַיָּ֨א נְפַ֜ל לָ֣ךְ אָמְרִ֣ין נְבוּכַדְנֶצַּ֣ר מַלְכָּ֡א מַלְכוּתָ֣ה עֲדָ֣ת מִנָּֽךְ׃

KJVWhile the word was in the king's mouth, there fell a voice from heaven, saying, O king Nebuchadnezzar, to thee it is spoken; The kingdom is departed from thee.

While the words were still in the king's mouth, there fell a voice from heaven: O King Nebuchadnezzar, to you it is spoken: The kingdom has departed from you,

וּמִן אֲנָשָׁ֣א לָ֣ךְ טָ֡רְדִין וְעִם חֵיוַ֣ת בָּרָ֡א מְדוֹרָ֣ךְ עִשְׂבָּ֣א כְתוֹרִ֣ין לָ֣ךְ יְטַֽעֲמ֡וּן וְשִׁבְעָ֣ה עִדָּנִ֣ין יַחְלְפ֣וּן עֲלָ֡ךְ עַד דִּֽי תִנְדַּ֣ע דִּֽי שַׁלִּ֣יט עִלָּאָ֣ה בְּמַלְכ֣וּת אֲנָשָׁ֣א וּלְמַ֣ן דִּ֣י יִצְבֵּ֣א יִתְּנִנַּֽהּ׃

בַּהּ שַׁעֲתָ֤ה מִלְּתָא֙ סָ֣פַת עַל נְבוּכַדְנֶצַּ֔ר וּמִן אֲנָשָׁ֣א טְרִ֣יד וְעִשְׂבָּ֣א כְתוֹרִ֣ין יֵאכֻ֡ל וּמִטַּ֣ל שְׁמַיָּ֡א גִּשְׁמֵ֣הּ יִצְטַבַּ֡ע עַד דִּ֣י שַׂעְרֵ֣הּ כְּנִשְׁרִ֣ין רְבָ֡ה וְטִפְרֹ֣והִי כְצִפְּרִ֡ין׃

KJVThe same hour was the thing fulfilled upon Nebuchadnezzar: and he was driven from men, and did eat grass as oxen, and his body was wet with the dew of heaven, till his hairs were grown like eagles' feathers, and his nails like birds' claws.

Immediately the word was fulfilled against Nebuchadnezzar. He was driven from among men and ate grass like an ox, and his body was wet with the dew of heaven till his hair grew as long as eagles' feathers, and his nails were like birds' claws.

וְלִקְצָ֣ת יֹֽומַיָּ֡א אֲנָ֣ה נְבוּכַדְנֶצַּ֡ר עַיְנַ֣י לִשְׁמַיָּ֣א נְטְלֵ֑ת וּמַנְדְּעִ֣י עֲלַ֣י יְתוּ֑ב וּלְעִלָּאָ֣ה בָּרְכֵ֡ת וּלְחַ֣י עָלְמָ֡א שַׁבְּחֵ֡ת וְהַדָּרֵ֡ת דִּ֣י שָׁלְטָנֵ֣הּ שָׁלְטָ֣ן עָלַ֡ם וּמַלְכוּתֵ֣הּ עִם דַּ֣ר וְדַ֡ר׃

KJVAnd at the end of the days I Nebuchadnezzar lifted up mine eyes unto heaven, and mine understanding returned unto me, and I blessed the most High, and I praised and honoured him that liveth for ever, whose dominion is an everlasting dominion, and his kingdom is from generation to generation:

At the end of the days I, Nebuchadnezzar, lifted my eyes to heaven, and my reason returned to me, and I blessed the Most High, and praised and honored him who lives forever, for his dominion is an everlasting dominion, and his kingdom endures from generation to generation.

וְכֹ֣ל דָּֽיְרֵ֣י אַרְעָ֡א כְּלָ֣ה חֲשִׁיבִ֡ין וּכְמִצְבְּיֵ֣הּ עָבֵ֣ד בְּחֵיל֣ שְׁמַיָּ֡א וְדָֽיְרֵ֣י אַרְעָ֡א וְלָ֣א אִיתַ֣י דִּֽי יְמַחֵ֣א בִּידֵ֣הּ וְיֵאמַ֣ר לֵ֣הּ מָ֣ה עֲבַ֡דְתְּ׃

KJVAnd all the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing: and he doeth according to his will in the army of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth: and none can stay his hand, or say unto him, What doest thou?

all the inhabitants of the earth are accounted as nothing, and he does according to his will among the host of heaven and among the inhabitants of the earth; and none can stay his hand or say to him, What have you done?

בֵּ֣הּ זְמַנָּ֡א מַנְדְּעִ֣י יְת֣וּב עֲלַ֡י וְלִ֣יקַר מַלְכוּתִ֡י הַדְרִ֡י וְזִ֡יוִי יְת֣וּב עֲלַ֡י וְלִ֣י הַדָּֽבְרַ֡י וְרַבְרְבָנַ֣י יְבַעֲי֡וּן וְעַ֣ל מַלְכוּתִ֣י הָתְקְנֵ֡ת וּרְב֣וּ יַתִּ֣ירָ֡ה הֽוּסְפַ֡ת לִֽי׃

KJVAt the same time my reason returned unto me; and for the glory of my kingdom, mine honour and brightness returned unto me; and my counsellors and my lords sought unto me; and I was established in my kingdom, and excellent majesty was added unto me.

כְּעַ֞ן אֲנָ֣ה נְבוּכַדְנֶצַּ֗ר מְשַׁבַּ֤ח וּמְרוֹמֵם֙ וּמְהַדַּ֔ר לְמֶ֖לֶךְ שְׁמַיָּ֑א דִּ֣י כָל מַעֲבָד֣וֹהִי קְשֹׁ֣וט וְאֹרְחָתֵ֣הּ דִּ֡ין וְדִי֩ מַהְלְכִ֨ין בְּגֵוָ֜ה יָכִ֖ל לְהַשְׁפָּלָֽה׃

KJVNow I Nebuchadnezzar praise and extol and honour the King of heaven, all whose works are truth, and his ways judgment: and those that walk in pride he is able to abase.

Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and extol and honor the King of heaven, for all his works are right and his ways are just; and those who walk in pride he is able to humble.
