אַף לְזֹ֖את יֶחֱרַ֣ד לִבִּ֑י וְ֝יִתַּ֗ר מִמְּקוֹמֽוֹ׃
KJVAt this also my heart trembleth, and is moved out of his place.
At this also my heart trembles and leaps out of its place.
2
שִׁמְע֤וּ שָׁמ֣וֹעַ בְּרֹ֣גֶז קֹל֑וֹ וְ֝הֶגֶ֗ה מִפִּ֥יו יֵצֵֽא׃
KJVHear attentively the noise of his voice, and the sound that goeth out of his mouth.
Hear, hear the thunder of his voice and the rumbling that comes from his mouth.

תַּחַת כָּל הַשָּׁמַ֥יִם יִשְׁרֵ֑הוּ וְ֝אוֹר֗וֹ עַל כַּנְפ֥וֹת הָאָֽרֶץ׃
KJVHe directeth it under the whole heaven, and his lightning unto the ends of the earth.
Under the whole heaven he lets it go, and his lightning to the corners of the earth.

אַחֲרָ֤יו ׀ יִשְׁאַג קוֹל֗ יַרְעֵ֣ם בְּק֣וֹל גְּאוֹנ֑וֹ וְלֹ֥א יְ֝עַקְּבֵ֗ם כִּי יִשָּׁמַ֥ע קוֹלֽוֹ׃
KJVAfter it a voice roareth: he thundereth with the voice of his excellency; and he will not stay them when his voice is heard.
After it his voice roars; he thunders with his majestic voice, and he does not restrain the lightnings when his voice is heard.

יַרְעֵ֤ם אֵ֨ל ׀ בְּקוֹל֗וֹ נִ֫פְלָא֥וֹת עֹשֶׂ֥ה גְדֹל֑וֹת וְ֝לֹ֗א נֵדַ֥ע׃
KJVGod thundereth marvellously with his voice; great things doeth he, which we cannot comprehend.
God thunders wondrously with his voice; he does great things that we cannot comprehend.

כִּ֤י לַשֶּׁ֨לַג ׀ יֹאמַ֗ר הֱוֵ֫א אָ֥רֶץ וְגֶ֥שֶׁם מָטָ֑ר וְגֶ֖שֶׁם מִטְר֣וֹת עֻזּֽוֹ׃
KJVFor he saith to the snow, Be thou on the earth; likewise to the small rain, and to the great rain of his strength.
For to the snow he says: Fall on the earth, likewise to the downpour, his mighty downpour.

בְּיַ֣ד כָּל אָדָ֣ם יַחְתּ֑וֹם לָ֝דַ֗עַת כָּל אַנְשֵׁ֥י מַעֲשֵֽׂהוּ׃
KJVHe sealeth up the hand of every man; that all men may know his work.
He seals up the hand of every man, that all men whom he has made may know it.

וַתָּבֹ֣א חַיָּ֣ה בְמוֹ אָ֑רֶב וּבִמְעֽוֹנֹתֶ֗יהָ תִשְׁכֹּֽן׃
KJVThen the beasts go into dens, and remain in their places.
Then the beasts go into their lairs, and remain in their dens.

מִן הַ֭חֶדֶר תָּב֣וֹא סוּפָ֑ה וּמִמְּזָרִ֥ים קָרָֽה׃
KJVOut of the south cometh the whirlwind: and cold out of the north.
From its chamber comes the whirlwind, and cold from the scattering winds.
10
מִנִּשְׁמַת אֵ֥ל יִתֶּן קָ֑רַח וְרֹ֥חַב מַ֝יִם בְּמוּצָֽק׃
KJVBy the breath of God frost is given: and the breadth of the waters is straitened.
By the breath of God ice is given, and the broad waters are frozen fast.

אַף בְּרִ֥י יַטְרִיחַ עָ֑ב יָ֝פִ֗יץ עֲנַ֣ן אוֹרֽוֹ׃
KJVAlso by watering he wearieth the thick cloud: he scattereth his bright cloud:
He loads the thick cloud with moisture; the clouds scatter his lightning.

וְה֤וּא מְסִבּ֨וֹת ׀ מִתְהַפֵּ֬ךְ בְּתַחְבּוּלֹתָ֗יו לְפָעֳלָ֗ם כֹּ֥ל אֲשֶׁ֥ר יְצַוֵּ֑ם עַ֝ל פְּנֵ֥י תֵבֵ֗ל אַרְצָֽה׃
KJVAnd it is turned round about by his counsels: that they may do whatsoever he commandeth them upon the face of the world in the earth.
They turn around and around by his guidance, to accomplish all that he commands them on the face of the habitable world.

אִם לְשֵׁ֥בֶט אִם לְאַרְצ֑וֹ אִ֝ם לְחֶ֗סֶד יַמְצִאֵֽהוּ׃
KJVHe causeth it to come, whether for correction, or for his land, or for mercy.
Whether for correction or for his land or for love, he causes it to happen.
14
הַ֭אֲזִינָה זֹּ֣את אִיּ֑וֹב עֲ֝מֹ֗ד וְהִתְבּוֹנֵ֥ן נִפְלְא֥וֹת אֵֽל׃
KJVHearken unto this, O Job: stand still, and consider the wondrous works of God.
Hear this, O Job; stop and consider the wondrous works of God.
15
הֲ֭תֵדַע בְּשׂ֣וּם אֱל֣וֹהַּ עֲלֵיהֶ֑ם וְ֝הוֹפִ֗יעַ א֣וֹר עֲנָנֽוֹ׃
KJVDost thou know when God disposed them, and caused the light of his cloud to shine?
Do you know how God lays his command upon them and causes the lightning of his cloud to shine?

הֲ֭תֵדַע עַל מִ֣פְלְשֵׂי עָ֑ב מִ֝פְלְא֗וֹת תְּמִ֣ים דֵּעֽוֹת׃
KJVDost thou know the balancings of the clouds, the wondrous works of him which is perfect in knowledge?
Do you know the balancings of the clouds, the wondrous works of him who is perfect in knowledge,
17
אֲשֶׁר בְּגָדֶ֥יךָ חַמִּ֑ים בְּהַשְׁקִ֥יט אֶ֝רֶץ מִדָּרֽוֹם׃
KJVHow thy garments are warm, when he quieteth the earth by the south wind?
you whose garments are hot when the earth is still because of the south wind?
18
תַּרְקִ֣יעַ עִ֭מּוֹ לִשְׁחָקִ֑ים חֲ֝זָקִ֗ים כִּרְאִ֥י מוּצָֽק׃
KJVHast thou with him spread out the sky, which is strong, and as a molten looking glass?
Can you, like him, spread out the skies, hard as a cast metal mirror?
19
ה֭וֹדִיעֵנוּ מַה נֹּ֣אמַר ל֑וֹ לֹ֥א נַ֝עֲרֹ֗ךְ מִפְּנֵי חֹֽשֶׁךְ׃
KJVTeach us what we shall say unto him; for we cannot order our speech by reason of darkness.
Teach us what we shall say to him; we cannot draw up our case because of darkness.
20
הַיְסֻפַּר לוֹ כִּ֣י אֲדַבֵּ֑ר אִם אָמַ֥ר אִ֝ישׁ כִּ֣י יְבֻלָּֽע׃
KJVShall it be told him that I speak? if a man speak, surely he shall be swallowed up.
Shall it be told him that I would speak? Did a man ever wish that he would be swallowed up?
21
וְעַתָּ֤ה לֹ֥א רָאוּ א֗וֹר בָּהִ֣יר ה֭וּא בַּשְּׁחָקִ֑ים וְר֥וּחַ עָ֝בְרָ֗ה וַתְּטַהֲרֵֽם׃
KJVAnd now men see not the bright light which is in the clouds: but the wind passeth, and cleanseth them.
And now no one looks on the light when it is bright in the skies, when the wind has passed and cleared them.
22
מִ֭צָּפוֹן זָהָ֣ב יֶאֱתֶ֑ה עַל אֱ֝לוֹהַּ נ֣וֹרָא הֽוֹד׃
KJVFair weather cometh out of the north: with God is terrible majesty.
Out of the north comes golden splendor; God is clothed with awesome majesty.
23
שַׁדַּ֤י ׀ לֹֽא מְצָאנֻ֗הוּ שַׂגִּיא כֹ֥חַ וּמִשְׁפָּ֥ט וְרֹב צְדָקָ֗ה לֹ֣א יְעַנֶּֽה׃
KJVTouching the Almighty, we cannot find him out: he is excellent in power, and in judgment, and in plenty of justice: he will not afflict.
The Almighty — we cannot find him; he is great in power; justice and abundant righteousness he will not violate.
24
לָ֭כֵן יְרֵא֑וּהוּ אַנְשֵׁ֥ים לֹ֝א יִרְאֶ֗ה כָּל חַכְמֵי לֵֽב׃
KJVMen do therefore fear him: he respecteth not any that are wise of heart.
Therefore men fear him; he does not regard any who are wise in their own conceit.
