1 Thessalonians 1:6

Καὶ ὑμεῖς μιμηταὶ ἡμῶν ἐγενήθητε καὶ τοῦ Κυρίου, δεξάμενοι τὸν λόγον ἐν θλίψει πολλῇ μετὰ χαρᾶς Πνεύματος ἁγίου,
Kai ymeis mimētai ēmōn egenēthēte kai toy Kyrioy, dexamenoi ton logon en thlipsei pollē meta charas Pneymatos agioy,

And ye became followers of us, and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Ghost:

Modern English

You became imitators of us and of the Lord, for you welcomed the message in the midst of severe suffering with the joy given by the Holy Spirit.
