1 Thessalonians 2:13

Dia toyto kai ēmeis eycharistoymen tō Theō adialeiptōs, oti paralabontes logon akoēs par' ēmōn toy Theoy, edexasthe oy logon anthrōpōn, alla kathōs estin alēthōs, logon Theoy, os kai energeitai en ymin tois pisteyoysin.
King James Version (KJV)

For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe.

Modern English

And we also thank God continually because, when you received the word of God, which you heard from us, you accepted it not as a human word, but as it actually is, the word of God, which is indeed at work in you who believe.
