Luke 8:16

ουδεις δε λυχνον αψας καλυπτει αυτον σκευει η υποκατω κλινης τιθησιν αλλ επι λυχνιας επιτιθησιν ινα οι εισπορευομενοι βλεπωσιν το φως
oydeis de lychnon apsas kalyptei ayton skeyei ē ypokatō klinēs tithēsin all epi lychnias epitithēsin ina oi eisporeyomenoi blepōsin to phōs

No man, when he hath lighted a candle, covereth it with a vessel, or putteth {it} under a bed; but setteth {it} on a candlestick, that they which enter in may see the light.

Modern English

“No one, when he has lit a lamp, covers it with a container, or puts it under a bed; but puts it on a stand, that those who enter in may see the light.
