Revelation 9:2

Kai ēnoixen to phrear tēs abyssoy, kai anebē kapnos ek toy phreatos ōs kapnos kaminoy kaiomenēs, kai eskotisthē o ēlios kai o aēr ek toy kapnoy toy phreatos.
King James Version (KJV)

And he opened the bottomless pit; and there arose a smoke out of the pit, as the smoke of a great furnace; and the sun and the air were darkened by reason of the smoke of the pit.

Modern English

When he opened the Abyss, smoke rose from it like the smoke from a gigantic furnace. The sun and sky were darkened by the smoke from the Abyss.
