Romans 11:6

Εἰ δὲ χάριτι, οὐκέτι ἐξ ἔργων· ἐπεὶ ἡ χάρις οὐκέτι γίνεται χάρις. Εἰ δὲ ἐξ ἔργων, οὐκέτι ἐστὶν χάρις· ἐπεὶ τὸ ἔργον οὐκέτι ἐστὶν ἔργον.
Ei de chariti, oyketi ex ergōn· epei ē charis oyketi ginetai charis. Ei de ex ergōn, oyketi estin charis· epei to ergon oyketi estin ergon.
King James Version (KJV)

And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.

Modern English

And if by grace, then it cannot be based on works; if it were, grace would no longer be grace.
