Sirach (Ecclesiasticus)

Sirach (Ecclesiasticus) 5:14

King James Version (KJV)

Be not called a whisperer, and lie not in wait with thy tongue: for a foul shame is upon the thief, and an evil condemnation upon the double tongue.

Modern English

Do not be called a gossip, and do not lie in wait with your tongue, for shame belongs to the thief, and harsh judgment to the double-tongued.
