No fuimos engañados por las invenciones perjudiciales de los seres humanos, ni por el trabajo infructuoso de un pintor, una imagen sin vida manchada de muchos colores,

For neither did the mischievous invention of men deceive us, nor an image spotted with divers colours, the painter's fruitless labour;
