Y respondióle Jehová: Cierto que cualquiera que matare á Caín, siete veces será castigado. Entonces Jehová puso señal en Caín, para que no lo hiriese cualquiera que le hallara.
And the LORD said unto him, Therefore whosoever slayeth Cain, vengeance shall be taken on him sevenfold. And the LORD set a mark upon Cain, lest any finding him should kill him.
Pero el SEÑOR le respondió: «No será así; si alguien mata a Caín, sufrirá una venganza siete veces mayor». Y el SEÑOR puso una señal sobre Caín, para que quien lo hallara no lo matara.
