1 Chronicles 21:8

וַיֹּ֤אמֶר דָּוִיד֙ אֶל הָֽאֱלֹהִ֔ים חָטָ֣אתִי מְאֹ֔ד אֲשֶׁ֥ר עָשִׂ֖יתִי הַדָּבָ֣ר הַזֶּ֑ה וְעַתָּ֗ה הַעֲבֶר נָא֙ אֶת עֲוֹ֣ן עַבְדֶּ֔ךָ כִּ֥י נִסְכַּ֖לְתִּי מְאֹֽד׃
vayoʾmer daviyd ʾel haʾelohiym ḥaṭaʾtiy mʾod ʾasher ʿashiytiy hadabar hazeh vʿatah haʿaber naʾ ʾet ʿavon ʿabdeka kiy niskaltiy mʾod
King James Version (KJV)

And David said unto God, I have sinned greatly, because I have done this thing: but now, I beseech thee, do away the iniquity of thy servant; for I have done very foolishly.

Modern English

And David said to God: I have sinned greatly in that I have done this thing. But now, please take away the iniquity of your servant, for I have acted very foolishly.
