Ecclesiastes 8:9

אֶת כָּל זֶ֣ה רָאִ֗יתִי וְנָת֤וֹן אֶת לִבִּי֙ לְכָ֣ל מַעֲשֶׂ֔ה אֲשֶׁ֥ר נַעֲשָׂ֖ה תַּ֣חַת הַשָּׁ֑מֶשׁ עֵ֗ת אֲשֶׁ֤ר שָׁלַט֙ הָאָדָ֔ם בְּאָדָ֖ם לְרַ֥ע לֽוֹ׃

ʾet kal zeh raʾiytiy vnatvon ʾet libiy lkal maʿasheh ʾasher naʿashah taḥat hashamesh ʿet ʾasher shalaṭ haʾadam bʾadam lraʿ lvo

King James Version (KJV)

All this have I seen, and applied my heart unto every work that is done under the sun: there is a time wherein one man ruleth over another to his own hurt.

Modern English

All this I observed while applying my heart to all that is done under the sun, when man had power over man to his hurt.
