הֶן כֹּ֣ל רָאֲתָ֣ה עֵינִ֑י שָׁ֝מְעָ֗ה אָזְנִ֥י וַתָּ֥בֶן לָֽהּ׃
KJVLo, mine eye hath seen all this, mine ear hath heard and understood it.
Behold, my eye has seen all this, my ear has heard and understood it.

כְּדַעְתְּכֶ֥ם יָדַ֑עְתִּי גַּ֝ם אָנִ֗י לֹא נֹפֵ֥ל אָנֹכִ֥י מִכֶּֽם׃
KJVWhat ye know, the same do I know also: I am not inferior unto you.
What you know, I also know; I am not inferior to you.

אוּלָ֗ם אֲ֭נִי אֶל שַׁדַּ֣י אֲדַבֵּ֑ר וְהוֹכֵ֖חַ אֶל אֵ֣ל אֶחְפָּֽץ׃
KJVSurely I would speak to the Almighty, and I desire to reason with God.
But I would speak to the Almighty, and I desire to argue my case with God.

וְ֭אוּלָם אַתֶּ֣ם טֹפְלֵי שָׁ֑קֶר רֹפְאֵ֥י אֱ֝לִ֗ל כֻּלְּכֶֽם׃
KJVBut ye are forgers of lies, ye are all physicians of no value.
As for you, you whitewash with lies; worthless physicians are you all.

מִ֣י יִ֭תֵּן הַחֲרֵ֣שׁ תַּחֲרִ֑ישׁוּן וּ֝תְהִ֗י לָכֶ֥ם לְחָכְמָֽה׃
KJVO that ye would altogether hold your peace! and it should be your wisdom.
Oh that you would keep silent, and it would be your wisdom!

שִׁמְעוּ נָ֥א תוֹכַחְתִּ֑י וְרִב֥וֹת שְׂ֝פָתַ֗י הַקְשִֽׁיבוּ׃
KJVHear now my reasoning, and hearken to the pleadings of my lips.
Hear now my argument and listen to the pleadings of my lips.

הַֽ לְאֵ֭ל תְּדַבְּר֣וּ עַוְלָ֑ה וְ֝ל֗וֹ תְּדַבְּר֥וּ רְמִיָּֽה׃
KJVWill ye speak wickedly for God? and talk deceitfully for him?
Will you speak falsely for God and speak deceitfully for him?

הֲ פָנָ֥יו תִּשָּׂא֑וּן אִם לָ֝אֵ֗ל תְּרִיבֽוּן׃
KJVWill ye accept his person? will ye contend for God?
Will you show partiality toward him? Will you plead the case for God?

הֲ ט֣וֹב כִּ֣י יַחְקֹ֣ר אֶתְכֶ֑ם אִ֥ם כְּ֝הָתֵ֗ל בֶּאֱנ֥וֹשׁ תְּהָתֵ֣לּוּ בֽוֹ׃
KJVIs it good that he should search you out? or as one man mocketh another, do ye so mock him?
Will it be well with you when he searches you out? Or can you deceive him as one deceives a man?

הוֹכֵ֣חַ יוֹכִ֣יחַ אֶתְכֶ֑ם אִם בַּסֵּ֥תֶר פָּ֝נִ֗ים תִּשָּׂאֽוּן׃
KJVHe will surely reprove you, if ye do secretly accept persons.
He will surely rebuke you if in secret you show partiality.

הֲ לֹ֣א שְׂ֭אֵתוֹ תְּבַעֵ֣ת אֶתְכֶ֑ם וּ֝פַחְדּ֗וֹ יִפֹּ֥ל עֲלֵיכֶֽם׃
KJVShall not his excellency make you afraid? and his dread fall upon you?
Will not his majesty terrify you, and the dread of him fall upon you?

זִכְרֹ֥נֵיכֶ֗ם מְשְׁלֵ֫י אֵ֥פֶר לְגַבֵּ֥י חֹ֗מֶר גַּבֵּ֥י חֹמֶֽר׃
KJVYour remembrances are like unto ashes, your bodies to bodies of clay.
Your memorable sayings are proverbs of ashes; your defenses are defenses of clay.

הַ֭חֲרִישׁוּ מִמֶּ֣נִּי וַאֲדַבְּרָ֑ה אָ֝נִ֗י וְיַעֲבֹ֥ר עָלַ֗י מָֽה׃
KJVHold your peace, let me alone, that I may speak, and let come on me what will.
Let me have silence, and I will speak, and let come on me what may.

עַל מָ֭ה אֶשָּׂ֣א בְשָׂרִ֣י בְשִׁנָּ֑י וְ֝נַפְשִׁ֗י אָשִׂ֥ים בְּכַפִּֽי׃
KJVWherefore do I take my flesh in my teeth, and put my life in mine hand?
Why should I take my flesh in my teeth and put my life in my hand?
15
הֵ֤ן יִקְטְלֵ֗נִי ל֣וֹ אֲיַחֵ֑ל אַךְ דְּ֝רָכַ֗י אֶל פָּנָ֥יו אוֹכִֽיחַ׃
KJVThough he slay me, yet will I trust in him: but I will maintain mine own ways before him.
Though he slay me, I will hope in him; yet I will argue my ways to his face.
16
גַּם ה֣וּא לִ֭י לִישׁוּעָ֑ה כִּֽי לֹא לְפָנָ֥יו חָ֝נֵ֗ף יָבֽוֹא׃
KJVHe also shall be my salvation: for an hypocrite shall not come before him.
He also shall be my salvation, for a godless man shall not come before him.
17
שִׁמְעוּ שָׁמ֣וֹעַ מִלָּתִ֑י וְ֝אַחֲוָתִ֗י בְּאָזְנֵיכֶֽם׃
KJVHear diligently my speech, and my declaration with your ears.
Keep listening to my words, and let my declaration be in your ears.
18
הִנֵּה נָ֣א עָרַ֣כְתִּי מִשְׁפָּ֑ט יָ֝דַ֗עְתִּי כִּ֣י אֲנִ֣י אֶצְדָּֽק׃
KJVBehold now, I have ordered my cause; I know that I shall be justified.
Behold, I have prepared my case; I know that I shall be in the right.
19
מִ֭י ה֣וּא יָרִ֣יב עִמָּדִ֑י כִּ֥י עַ֝תָּה אַחֲרִ֗ישׁ וְאֶגְוָֽע׃
KJVWho is he that will plead with me? for now, if I hold my tongue, I shall give up the ghost.
Who is there who will contend with me? For then I would be silent and die.
20
אַ֤ךְ שְׁתַּ֗יִם אַל תַּ֭עַשׂ עִמָּדִ֑י אָ֝ז מִפָּנֶ֗יךָ לֹ֣א אֶסָּתֵֽר׃
KJVOnly do not two things unto me: then will I not hide myself from thee.
Only grant me two things, then I will not hide myself from your face:
21
כַּפְּךָ֣ מֵֽ֭עָלַי הַרְחֵ֑ק וְ֝אֵמָתְךָ֗ אַל תְּבַעֲתַֽנִּי׃
KJVWithdraw thine hand far from me: and let not thy dread make me afraid.
withdraw your hand far from me, and let not dread of you terrify me.
22
וּקְרָ֣א וְ֭אָנֹכִי אֶֽעֱנֶ֑ה אוֹ אֲדַבֵּ֥ר וַ֝הֲשִׁיבֵֽנִי׃
KJVThen call thou, and I will answer: or let me speak, and answer thou me.
Then call, and I will answer; or let me speak, and you reply to me.
23
כַּמָּ֣ה לִ֭י עֲוֺנ֣וֹת וְחַטָּא֑וֹת פִּשְׁעִ֥י וְ֝חַטָּאתִ֗י הוֹדִיעֵֽנִי׃
KJVHow many are mine iniquities and sins? make me to know my transgression and my sin.
How many are my iniquities and my sins? Make me know my transgression and my sin.
24
לָ֭מָּה פָנֶ֣יךָ תַסְתִּ֑יר וְ֝תַחְשְׁבֵ֗נִי לְאוֹיֵ֥ב לָֽךְ׃
KJVWherefore hidest thou thy face, and holdest me for thine enemy?
Why do you hide your face and count me as your enemy?
25
הֶ֭עָלֶה נִדָּ֣ף תַּעֲרֹ֑יץ וְאֶת קַ֝שׁ יָבֵ֗שׁ תִּרְדֹּֽף׃
KJVWilt thou break a leaf driven to and fro? and wilt thou pursue the dry stubble?
Will you frighten a driven leaf and pursue dry chaff?
26
כִּ֣י תִ֭כְתֹּב עָלַ֣י מְרֹר֑וֹת וְ֝תוֹרִישֵׁ֗נִי עֲוֺנ֥וֹת נְעוּרָֽי׃
KJVFor thou writest bitter things against me, and makest me to possess the iniquities of my youth.
For you write bitter things against me and make me inherit the iniquities of my youth.
27
וְתָשֵׂ֣ם בַּסַּ֣ד רַגְלַ֑י וְ֝תִשְׁמֹ֗ר כָּל אָרְחוֹתָ֥י עַל שָׁרְשֵׁ֗י רַגְלַ֥י תִּתְחַקֶּֽה׃
KJVThou puttest my feet also in the stocks, and lookest narrowly unto all my paths; thou settest a print upon the heels of my feet.
You put my feet in the stocks and watch all my paths; you set a limit for the soles of my feet.
28
וְ֭הוּא כְּרָקָ֣ב יִבְלֶ֑ה כְּ֝בֶ֗גֶד אֲכָ֥לוֹ עָֽשׁ׃
KJVAnd he, as a rotten thing, consumeth, as a garment that is moth eaten.
Man wastes away like a rotten thing, like a garment that is moth-eaten.
