Y era Jeroboam hombre muy valiente; y viendo Salomón al joven que era hombre de trabajo, le puso cargo de toda la labor de la casa de José.
And the man Jeroboam {was} a mighty man of valour: and Solomon seeing the young man that he was industrious, he made him ruler over all the charge of the house of Joseph. {was industrious: Heb. did work} {charge: Heb. burden}
וְהָאִ֥ישׁ יָרָבְעָ֖ם גִּבּ֣וֹר חָ֑יִל וַיַּ֨רְא שְׁלֹמֹ֜ה אֶת־הַנַּ֗עַר כִּֽי־עֹשֵׂ֤ה מְלָאכָה֙ ה֔וּא וַיַּפְקֵ֣ד אֹת֔וֹ לְכָל־סֵ֖בֶל בֵּ֥ית יוֹסֵֽף׃
vhaʾiysh yarabʿam gibvor ḥayil vayarʾ shlomoh ʾet-hanaʿar kiy-ʿosheh mlaʾkah hvʾ vayapqed ʾotvo lkal-sebel beyt yvosef
