Nevertheless the people refused to obey the voice of Samuel; and they said, Nay; but we will have a king over us;
וַיְמָאֲנ֣וּ הָעָ֔ם לִשְׁמֹ֖עַ בְּק֣וֹל שְׁמוּאֵ֑ל וַיֹּאמְר֣וּ לֹּ֔א כִּ֥י אִם־מֶ֖לֶךְ יִֽהְיֶ֥ה עָלֵֽינוּ׃
vaymaʾanv haʿam lishmoʿa bqvol shmvʾel vayoʾmrv loʾ kiy ʾim-melek yihyeh ʿaleynv
