וַיָּבֹ֙אוּ֙ אַנְשֵׁ֣י יְהוּדָ֔ה וַיִּמְשְׁחוּ־שָׁ֧ם אֶת־דָּוִ֛ד לְמֶ֖לֶךְ עַל־בֵּ֣ית יְהוּדָ֑ה וַיַּגִּ֤דוּ לְדָוִד֙ לֵאמֹ֔ר אַנְשֵׁי֙ יָבֵ֣ישׁ גִּלְעָ֔ד אֲשֶׁ֥ר קָבְר֖וּ אֶת־שָׁאֽוּל׃
vayaboʾv ʾanshey yhvdah vayimshḥv-sham ʾet-david lmelek ʿal-beyt yhvdah vayagidv ldavid leʾmor ʾanshey yabeysh gilʿad ʾasher qabrv ʾet-shaʾvl

And the men of Judah came, and there they anointed David king over the house of Judah. And they told David, saying, {That} the men of Jabeshgilead {were they} that buried Saul.

Modern English

The men of Judah came, and there they anointed David king over the house of Judah. They told David, “The men of Jabesh Gilead were those who buried Saul.”
