2 Samuel 4:10

כִּ֣י הַמַּגִּיד֩ לִ֨י לֵאמֹ֜ר הִנֵּה־מֵ֣ת שָׁא֗וּל וְהֽוּא־הָיָ֤ה כִמְבַשֵּׂר֙ בְּעֵינָ֔יו וָאֹחֲזָ֣ה ב֔וֹ וָאֶהְרְגֵ֖הוּ בְּצִֽקְלָ֑ג אֲשֶׁ֥ר לְתִתִּי־ל֖וֹ בְּשֹׂרָֽה׃
kiy hamagiyd liy leʾmor hineh-met shaʾvl vhvʾ-hayah kimbasher bʿeynayv vaʾoḥazah bvo vaʾehrgehv bṣiqlag ʾasher ltitiy-lvo bshorah

When one told me, saying, Behold, Saul is dead, thinking to have brought good tidings, I took hold of him, and slew him in Ziklag, who {thought} that I would have given him a reward for his tidings: {thinking...: Heb. he was in his own eyes as a bringer, etc} {who...: or, which was the reward I gave him for his tidings}

Modern English

when someone told me, ‘Behold, Saul is dead,’ thinking that he brought good news, I seized him and killed him in Ziklag, which was the reward I gave him for his news.
