Sin embargo, dicen: '¿Por qué no carga el hijo con la iniquidad del padre?' Cuando el hijo ha hecho lo que es recto y conforme a la ley, y ha guardado todos mis estatutos y los ha cumplido, ciertamente vivirá.
Yet say ye, Why? doth not the son bear the iniquity of the father? When the son hath done that which is lawful and right, {and} hath kept all my statutes, and hath done them, he shall surely live.
וַאֲמַרְתֶּ֕ם מַדֻּ֛עַ לֹא־נָשָׂ֥א הַבֵּ֖ן בַּעֲוֺ֣ן הָאָ֑ב וְהַבֵּ֞ן מִשְׁפָּ֧ט וּצְדָקָ֣ה עָשָׂ֗ה אֵ֣ת כָּל־חֻקּוֹתַ֥י שָׁמַ֛ר וַיַּעֲשֶׂ֥ה אֹתָ֖ם חָיֹ֥ה יִחְיֶֽה׃
vaʾamartem maduʿa loʾ-nashaʾ haben baʿavon haʾab vhaben mishpaṭ vṣdaqah ʿashah ʾet kal-ḥuqvotay shamar vayaʿasheh ʾotam ḥayoh yiḥyeh
