Josué tomó Maqueda aquel mismo día y la hirió a filo de espada junto con su rey. La destruyó por completo a ella y a toda alma que había en ella; no dejó nadie con vida. E hizo al rey de Maqueda como había hecho al rey de Jericó.
And that day Joshua took Makkedah, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and the king thereof he utterly destroyed, them, and all the souls that {were} therein; he let none remain: and he did to the king of Makkedah as he did unto the king of Jericho.
וְאֶת־מַקֵּדָה֩ לָכַ֨ד יְהוֹשֻׁ֜עַ בַּיּ֣וֹם הַה֗וּא וַיַּכֶּ֣הָ לְפִי־חֶרֶב֮ וְאֶת־מַלְכָּהּ֒ הֶחֱרִ֣ם אוֹתָ֗ם וְאֶת־כָּל־הַנֶּ֙פֶשׁ֙ אֲשֶׁר־בָּ֔הּ לֹ֥א הִשְׁאִ֖יר שָׂרִ֑יד וַיַּ֙עַשׂ֙ לְמֶ֣לֶךְ מַקֵּדָ֔ה כַּאֲשֶׁ֥ר עָשָׂ֖ה לְמֶ֥לֶךְ יְרִיחֽוֹ׃
vʾet-maqedah lakad yhvoshuʿa bayvom hahvʾ vayakeha lpiy-ḥereb vʾet-malkah heḥerim ʾvotam vʾet-kal-hanepesh ʾasher-bah loʾ hishʾiyr shariyd vayaʿas lmelek maqedah kaʾasher ʿashah lmelek yriyḥvo
