Cuando el rey de Hai lo vio, él y todos los hombres de la ciudad se apresuraron y madrugaron, y salieron a luchar contra Israel en el momento señalado, frente al Arabá; pero él no sabía que había una emboscada contra él al otro lado de la ciudad.
And it came to pass, when the king of Ai saw {it}, that they hasted and rose up early, and the men of the city went out against Israel to battle, he and all his people, at a time appointed, before the plain; but he wist not that {there were} liers in ambush against him behind the city.
וַיְהִ֞י כִּרְא֣וֹת מֶֽלֶךְ־הָעַ֗י וַֽיְמַהֲר֡וּ וַיַּשְׁכִּ֡ימוּ וַיֵּצְא֣וּ אַנְשֵֽׁי־הָעִ֣יר לִקְרַֽאת־יִ֠שְׂרָאֵל לַֽמִּלְחָמָ֞ה ה֧וּא וְכָל־עַמּ֛וֹ לַמּוֹעֵ֖ד לִפְנֵ֣י הָֽעֲרָבָ֑ה וְהוּא֙ לֹ֣א יָדַ֔ע כִּֽי־אֹרֵ֥ב ל֖וֹ מֵאַחֲרֵ֥י הָעִֽיר׃
vayhiy kirʾvot melek-haʿay vaymaharv vayashkiymv vayeṣʾv ʾanshey-haʿiyr liqraʾt-yishraʾel lamilḥamah hvʾ vkal-ʿamvo lamvoʿed lipney haʿarabah vhvʾ loʾ yadaʿ kiy-ʾoreb lvo meʾaḥarey haʿiyr
