Colgó al rey de Hai en un árbol hasta el atardecer, y al ponerse el sol Josué ordenó que bajaran su cuerpo del árbol, lo arrojaron a la entrada de la puerta de la ciudad y levantaron sobre él un gran montón de piedras que permanece hasta el día de hoy.
And the king of Ai he hanged on a tree until eventide: and as soon as the sun was down, Joshua commanded that they should take his carcase down from the tree, and cast it at the entering of the gate of the city, and raise thereon a great heap of stones, {that remaineth} unto this day.
וְאֶת־מֶ֧לֶךְ הָעַ֛י תָּלָ֥ה עַל־הָעֵ֖ץ עַד־עֵ֣ת הָעָ֑רֶב וּכְב֣וֹא הַשֶּׁמֶשׁ֩ צִוָּ֨ה יְהוֹשֻׁ֜עַ וַיֹּרִ֧ידוּ אֶת־נִבְלָת֣וֹ מִן־הָעֵ֗ץ וַיַּשְׁלִ֤יכוּ אוֹתָהּ֙ אֶל־פֶּ֙תַח֙ שַׁ֣עַר הָעִ֔יר וַיָּקִ֤ימוּ עָלָיו֙ גַּל־אֲבָנִ֣ים גָּד֔וֹל עַ֖ד הַיּ֥וֹם הַזֶּֽה׃
vʾet-melek haʿay talah ʿal-haʿeṣ ʿad-ʿet haʿareb vkbvoʾ hashemesh ṣivah yhvoshuʿa vayoriydv ʾet-niblatvo min-haʿeṣ vayashliykv ʾvotah ʾel-petaḥ shaʿar haʿiyr vayaqiymv ʿalayv gal-ʾabaniym gadvol ʿad hayvom hazeh
