En aquellos días, cuando no había rey en Israel, hubo un hombre levita que habitaba como forastero en la parte más remota de la región montañosa de Efraín, el cual tomó para sí una concubina de Belén de Judá.
And it came to pass in those days, when {there was} no king in Israel, that there was a certain Levite sojourning on the side of mount Ephraim, who took to him a concubine out of Bethlehemjudah. {a concubine: Heb. a woman a concubine, or, a wife a concubine}
וַיְהִי֙ בַּיָּמִ֣ים הָהֵ֔ם וּמֶ֖לֶךְ אֵ֣ין בְּיִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וַיְהִ֣י ׀ אִ֣ישׁ לֵוִ֗י גָּ֚ר בְּיַרְכְּתֵ֣י הַר־אֶפְרַ֔יִם וַיִּֽקַּֽח־לוֹ֙ אִשָּׁ֣ה פִילֶ֔גֶשׁ מִבֵּ֥ית לֶ֖חֶם יְהוּדָֽה׃
