Matthew 17:24

ελθοντων δε αυτων εις καπερναουμ προσηλθον οι τα διδραχμα λαμβανοντες τω πετρω και ειπον ο διδασκαλος υμων ου τελει τα διδραχμα
elthontōn de aytōn eis kapernaoym prosēlthon oi ta didrachma lambanontes tō petrō kai eipon o didaskalos ymōn oy telei ta didrachma

And when they were come to Capernaum, they that received tribute {money} came to Peter, and said, Doth not your master pay tribute? {tribute: called in the original, didrachma, being in value fifteen pence sterling; about thirty seven cents}

Modern English

When they had come to Capernaum, those who collected the didrachma coins came to Peter, and said, “Doesn’t your teacher pay the didrachma?”
