בֶּן עֶשְׂרִ֤ים וְחָמֵשׁ֙ שָׁנָ֔ה אֲמַצְיָ֖הוּ בְּמָלְכ֑וֹ וְעֶשְׂרִ֣ים וָ֠תֵ֠שַׁע שָׁנָ֡ה מָלַ֡ךְ בִּ֠ירוּשָׁלָ֡͏ִם וְשֵׁ֣ם אִמּ֡וֹ יְ֠הוֹעַדָּ֡ן מִ֠ירוּשָׁלָֽ͏ִם׃

KJVAmaziah was twenty and five years old when he began to reign, and he reigned twenty and nine years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Jehoaddan of Jerusalem.

Amaziah was twenty-five years old when he began to reign, and he reigned twenty-nine years in Jerusalem. His mother's name was Jehoaddan of Jerusalem.

וַ֠יַּ֡עַשׂ הַ֠יָּשָׁ֡ר בְּ֠עֵינֵ֡י יְהוָ֡ה רַ֠ק לֹ֠א בְּ֠לֵ֠בָ֡ב שָׁלֵֽם׃

KJVAnd he did that which was right in the sight of the LORD, but not with a perfect heart.

And he did what was right in the eyes of the LORD, yet not with a whole heart.

וַ֠יְהִ֡י כַּאֲשֶׁ֡ר חָ֠זְקָ֡ה הַ֠מַּמְלָ֡כָה עָ֠לָ֡יו וַ֠יַּ֡הֲרֹג אֶ֠ת עֲבָדָ֡יו הַ֠מַּ֠כִּ֡ים אֶ֠ת הַ֠מֶּ֠לֶךְ אָבִֽיו׃

KJVNow it came to pass, when the kingdom was established to him, that he slew his servants that had killed the king his father.

As soon as the royal power was firmly his, he killed his servants who had struck down the king his father.

וְ֠אֶ֠ת בְּ֠נֵיהֶ֡ם לֹ֠א הֵ֠מִ֡ית כִּ֠י כַ֠כָּ֠תוּ֡ב בַּ֠תּ֠וֹרָ֡ה בְּ֠סֵ֠פֶר מֹ֠שֶׁ֡ה אֲשֶׁ֣ר צִוָּ֡ה יְהוָ֡ה לֵ֠אמֹ֡ר לֹ֠א יָ֠מ֡וּתוּ אָב֡וֹת עַ֠ל בָּנִ֡ים וּ֠בָנִ֡ים לֹ֠א יָ֠מ֡וּתוּ עַ֠ל אָב֡וֹת כִּ֠י אִ֠ישׁ בְּ֠חֶ֠טְא֡וֹ יָמֽוּת׃

KJVBut he slew not their children, but did as it is written in the law in the book of Moses, where the LORD commanded, saying, The fathers shall not die for the children, neither shall the children die for the fathers, but every man shall die for his own sin.

But he did not put their children to death, according to what is written in the Law, in the Book of Moses, where the LORD commanded: Fathers shall not die because of their children, nor children die because of their fathers, but each one shall die for his own sin.

וַ֠יִּקְבֹּ֡ץ אֲמַצְיָ֡הוּ אֶ֠ת יְהוּדָ֡ה וַ֠יַּ֠עַמִּידֵ֡ם לְ֠בֵ֠ית אָב֡וֹת לְ֠שָׂרֵ֡י הָ֠אֲלָ֠פִ֡ים וּ֠לְשָׂרֵ֡י הַ֠מֵּ֡אוֹת לְ֠כָ֠ל יְהוּדָ֡ה וּ֠בִנְיָמִ֡ן וַ֠יִּפְקְד֡ם מִ֠בֶּ֠ן עֶשְׂרִ֠ים שָׁנָ֡ה וָ֠מַ֠עְלָ֡ה וַ֠יִּמְצָאֵ֡ם שְׁלֹ֠שׁ מֵ֠אוֹת אֶ֠לֶף בָּח֡וּר יוֹצֵ֡א צָ֠בָ֡א אֹ֠חֵ֡ז רֹ֠מַ֡ח וְ֠צִנָּֽה׃

KJVMoreover Amaziah gathered Judah together, and made them captains over thousands, and captains over hundreds, according to the houses of their fathers, throughout all Judah and Benjamin: and he numbered them from twenty years old and above, and found them three hundred thousand choice men, able to go forth to war, that could handle spear and shield.

Then Amaziah assembled the men of Judah and set them by fathers' houses under commanders of thousands and of hundreds for all Judah and Benjamin. He mustered those twenty years old and upward, and found that they were 300,000 choice men, fit for war, able to handle spear and shield.

וַ֠יִּשְׂכֹּ֡ר מִ֠יִּשְׂרָאֵ֡ל מֵ֠אָ֡ה אֶ֠לֶף גִּ֠בּ֡וֹר חַ֠יִ֠ל בְּ֠מֵ֠אָ֡ה כִּ֠כַּר כָּֽסֶף׃

KJVHe hired also an hundred thousand mighty men of valour out of Israel for an hundred talents of silver.

He also hired 100,000 mighty men of valor from Israel for 100 talents of silver.

וְ֠אִ֠ישׁ הָ֠אֱלֹ֠הִ֡ים בָּ֠א אֵ֠לָ֡יו לֵ֠אמֹ֡ר הַ֠מֶּ֡לֶךְ אַ֠ל יָ֠בֹ֡א עִמְּ֠ךָ֡ צְבָ֠א יִשְׂרָאֵ֡ל כִּ֠י אֵ֠ין יְהוָ֡ה עִ֠ם יִשְׂרָאֵ֡ל כֹּ֠ל בְּ֠נֵ֡י אֶפְרָֽיִם׃

KJVBut there came a man of God to him, saying, O king, let not the army of Israel go with thee; for the LORD is not with Israel, to wit, with all the children of Ephraim.

But a man of God came to him and said: O king, do not let the army of Israel go with you, for the LORD is not with Israel, with all these Ephraimites.

כִּ֠י אִ֠ם בָּ֡א עֲשֵׂ֡ה חֲ֠זַ֡ק לַ֠מִּלְחָ֡מָה יַ֠כְשִׁ֠ילְ֡ךָ הָ֠אֱלֹהִ֡ים לִ֠פְנֵ֡י אוֹיֵ֡ב כִּ֠י יֶ֠שׁ כֹּ֠חַ בֵּ֠אלֹ֠הִ֡ים לַ֠עְזוֹר֩ וּ֠לְהַ֠כְשִֽׁיל׃

KJVBut if thou wilt go, do it, be strong for the battle: God shall make thee fall before the enemy: for God hath power to help, and to cast down.

But if you go, act, be strong for the battle. Why should God cause you to fall before the enemy? For God has power to help or to cause to fall.

וַ֠יֹּ֡אמֶר אֲמַצְיָ֡הוּ לְ֠אִ֠ישׁ הָ֠אֱלֹ֠הִ֡ים וּ֠מַ֡ה לַ֠עֲשׂ֡וֹת לִ֠מְ֠אַ֠ת הַ֠כִּ֠כָּ֡ר אֲשֶׁ֣ר נָ֠תַ֡תִּי לְ֠גְדוּד֩ יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל וַ֠יֹּ֡אמֶר אִ֠ישׁ הָ֠אֱלֹהִ֡ים יֶ֠שׁ לַ֠יהוָ֡ה לָ֠תֵ֡ת לְ֠ךָ֡ הַרְבֵּ֠ה מִ֠זֶּֽה׃

KJVAnd Amaziah said to the man of God, But what shall we do for the hundred talents which I have given to the army of Israel? And the man of God answered, The LORD is able to give thee much more than this.

And Amaziah said to the man of God: But what shall we do about the hundred talents that I have given to the army of Israel? The man of God answered: The LORD is able to give you much more than this.

וַ֠יַּבְדִּ֡ילֵם אֲמַצְיָ֡הוּ לַ֠גְּד֡וּד אֲשֶׁ֣ר בָּ֠א אֵ֠לָ֡יו מֵ֠אֶפְרַ֡יִם לָ֠לֶ֠כֶת֩ לִ֨מְקוֹמָ֜ם וַ֠יִּ֠חַ֡ר אַ֠פָּ֡ם מְ֠אֹ֡ד בִּ֠יהוּדָ֡ה וַ֠יָּ֠שׁוּב֡וּ לִ֠מְקוֹמָ֡ם בַּ֠חֳרִ֠י אָֽף׃

KJVThen Amaziah separated them, to wit, the army that was come to him out of Ephraim, to go home again: wherefore their anger was greatly kindled against Judah, and they returned home in great anger.

Then Amaziah discharged the army that had come to him from Ephraim to go home again. And they became very angry with Judah and returned home in fierce anger.

וַ֠אֲמַצְיָ֡הוּ הִ֠תְחַ֠זַּ֡ק וַ֠יִּנְהַ֡ג אֶ֠ת עַמּ֡וֹ וַ֠יֵּלֶ֡ךְ גֵּ֠יא הַ֠מֶּ֠לַ֡ח וַ֠יַּ֠ךְ אֶ֠ת בְּנֵ֡י שֵׂעִ֡יר עֲשֶׂ֠רֶת אֲלָפִֽים׃

KJVAnd Amaziah strengthened himself, and led forth his people, and went to the valley of salt, and smote of the children of Seir ten thousand.

But Amaziah took courage and led his people out and went to the Valley of Salt and struck down 10,000 men of Seir.

וַ֠עֲשֶׂ֡רֶת אֲלָפִ֡ים חַ֠יִּ֡ים שָׁב֡וּ בְּ֠נֵ֡י יְ֠הוּדָ֡ה וַ֠יְבִיא֡וּם לְ֠רֹ֠אשׁ הַ֠סָּ֠לַ֡ע וַ֠יַּ֠שְׁלִ֡יכוּם מֵ֠רֹ֠אשׁ הַ֠סֶּ֠לַ֡ע וְ֠כֻ֠לָּ֡ם נִ֠פֹּצֽוּ׃

KJVAnd other ten thousand left alive did the children of Judah carry away captive, and brought them unto the top of the rock, and cast them down from the top of the rock, that they all were broken in pieces.

The men of Judah captured another 10,000 alive and took them to the top of a rock and threw them down from the top of the rock, and they were all dashed to pieces.

וּבְנֵ֥י הַגְּד֛וּד אֲשֶׁ֥ר הֵשִׁ֖יב אֲמַצְיָ֑הוּ מִ֠לֶּ֠כֶת עִמּ֡וֹ לַ֠מִּלְחָ֡מָה וַ֠יִּ֠פְשְׁטוּ֩ בְּ֨עָרֵ֧י יְהוּדָ֛ה מִ֠שֹּׁ֠מְר֡וֹן וְ֠עַ֠ד בֵּ֠ית חוֹר֡וֹן וַ֠יַּ֠כּ֡וּ מֵהֶ֡ם שְׁ֠לֹ֠שֶׁ֡ת אֲלָפִ֡ים וַ֠יָּ֠בֹ֡זּוּ בִּ֠זָּ֡ה רַ֠בָּֽה׃

KJVBut the soldiers of the army which Amaziah sent back, that they should not go with him to battle, fell upon the cities of Judah, from Samaria even unto Bethhoron, and smote three thousand of them, and took much spoil.

But the men of the army whom Amaziah had sent back, not letting them go with him to battle, raided the cities of Judah from Samaria to Beth-horon, struck down 3,000 people in them, and took much spoil.

וַ֠יְהִ֡י אַחֲרֵ֡י ב֠וֹא אֲמַצְיָ֡הוּ מֵ֠הַ֠כּ֠וֹת אֶ֠ת אֲד֡וֹמִיִּ֡ם וַ֠יָּ֡בֵא אֶ֠ת אֱלֹהֵ֡י בְּנֵ֡י שֵׂעִ֡יר וַ֠יַּ֠עֲמִ֡ידֵם ל֠וֹ לֵ֠אלֹ֠הִ֡ים וְ֠לִ֠פְנֵיהֶ֡ם יִ֠שְׁתַּחֲוֶ֡ה וְ֠לָ֡הֶם יְקַטֵּֽר׃

KJVNow it came to pass, after that Amaziah was come from the slaughter of the Edomites, that he brought the gods of the children of Seir, and set them up to be his gods, and bowed down himself before them, and burned incense unto them.

After Amaziah came from striking down the Edomites, he brought the gods of the men of Seir and set them up as his gods and worshiped them, making offerings to them.

וַ֠יִּ֠חַ֠ר אַ֠ף יְהוָ֡ה בַּ֠אֲמַצְיָ֡הוּ וַ֠יִּשְׁלַ֡ח אֵ֠לָ֡יו נָ֠בִ֡יא וַ֠יֹּ֡אמֶר ל֠וֹ לָ֠מָּ֡ה דָ֠רַ֠שְׁתָּ אֶ֠ת אֱלֹהֵ֡י הָ֠עָ֡ם אֲשֶׁ֣ר לֹ֠א הִ֠צִּ֡ילוּ אֶ֠ת עַמָּ֡ם מִ֠יָּדֶֽךָ׃

KJVWherefore the anger of the LORD was kindled against Amaziah, and he sent unto him a prophet, which said unto him, Why hast thou sought after the gods of the people, which could not deliver their own people out of thine hand?

Therefore the LORD was angry with Amaziah and sent to him a prophet, who said to him: Why have you sought the gods of a people who did not deliver their own people from your hand?

וַ֠יְהִ֡י בְּ֠דַבְּר֡וֹ אֵ֠לָ֡יו וַ֠יֹּ֡אמֶר ל֠וֹ הֲ֠יוֹעֵ֡ץ מֶ֠לֶ֠ךְ נְתַ֡נּוּךָ חֲ֠דַ֡ל לְ֠ךָ֡ לָ֠מָּ֡ה יַ֠כּ֡וּךָ וַ֠יַּחְדַּ֡ל הַ֠נָּ֡בִיא וַ֠יֹּ֡אמֶר יָ֠דַ֠עְתִּ֡י כִּ֠י יָ֠עַ֡ץ אֱלֹ֠הִ֡ים לְ֠הַ֠שְׁחִ֡יתְךָ כִּ֠י עָ֠שִׂ֡יתָ זֹ֠אַ֡ת וְ֠לֹ֡א שָׁ֠מַ֠עְתָּ לַ֠עֲצָתִֽי׃

KJVAnd it came to pass, as he talked with him, that the king said unto him, Art thou made of the king's counsel? forbear; why shouldest thou be smitten? Then the prophet forbare, and said, I know that God hath determined to destroy thee, because thou hast done this, and hast not hearkened unto my counsel.

But as he was speaking, the king said to him: Have we made you a royal counselor? Stop! Why should you be struck down? So the prophet stopped, but said: I know that God has determined to destroy you, because you have done this and have not listened to my counsel.

וַ֠יִּוָּ֠עַ֡ץ אֲמַצְיָ֡הוּ מֶ֠לֶ֠ךְ יְ֠הוּדָ֡ה וַ֠יִּשְׁלַ֡ח אֶ֠ל יוֹאָ֡שׁ בֶּ֠ן יְהוֹאָחָ֡ז בֶּ֠ן יֵ֡הוּא מֶ֠לֶ֠ךְ יִ֠שְׂרָאֵ֡ל לֵ֠אמֹ֡ר לְ֠כָ֡ה נִ֠תְרָאֶ֡ה פָּנִֽים׃

KJVThen Amaziah king of Judah took advice, and sent to Joash, the son of Jehoahaz, the son of Jehu, king of Israel, saying, Come, let us see one another in the face.

Then Amaziah king of Judah took counsel and sent to Joash the son of Jehoahaz, son of Jehu, king of Israel, saying: Come, let us look one another in the face.

וַ֠יִּשְׁלַ֡ח יוֹאָ֡שׁ מֶ֠לֶ֠ךְ יִ֠שְׂרָאֵ֡ל אֶ֠ל אֲמַצְיָ֡הוּ מֶ֠לֶ֠ךְ יְהוּדָ֡ה לֵ֠אמֹ֡ר הַ֠חוֹחַ֩ אֲשֶׁ֨ר בַּלְּבָנ֜וֹן שָׁלַ֣ח אֶ֠ל הָ֠אֶ֠רֶז֩ אֲשֶׁ֨ר בַּלְּבָ֤נוֹן לֵ֙אמֹר֙ תְּנָ֣ה אֶ֠ת בִּתְּ֠ךָ֡ לִ֠בְנִ֡י לְ֠אִשָּׁ֡ה וַ֠תַּ֠עֲבֹ֡ר חַיַּ֠ת הַ֠שָּׂ֠דֶ֡ה אֲשֶׁ֣ר בַּלְּבָנ֣וֹן וַ֠תִּרְמֹ֡ס אֶ֠ת הַ֠חוֹֽחַ׃

KJVAnd Joash king of Israel sent to Amaziah king of Judah, saying, The thistle that was in Lebanon sent to the cedar that was in Lebanon, saying, Give thy daughter to my son to wife: and there passed by a wild beast that was in Lebanon, and trode down the thistle.

And Joash king of Israel sent word to Amaziah king of Judah: A thistle on Lebanon sent to a cedar on Lebanon, saying: Give your daughter to my son for a wife, and a wild beast of Lebanon passed by and trampled down the thistle.

אָמַ֗רְתָּ הִנֵּ֤ה הִכִּ֣יתָ אֶ֠ת אֱד֡וֹם וּ֠נְשָׂאֲ֠ךָ֡ לִ֠בְּ֠ךָ֡ לְ֠הִ֠כְבִּ֡יד עַתָּ֡ה שֵׁ֠ב בְּ֠בֵיתֶ֑ךָ לָ֠מָּ֡ה תִ֠תְגָּ֠רֶ֡ה בְּ֠רָ֠עָ֡ה וְ֠נָ֠פַ֠לְתָּ֡ אַ֠תָּ֡ה וִ֠יהוּדָ֡ה עִמָּֽךְ׃

KJVThou sayest, Lo, thou hast smitten the Edomites; and thine heart lifteth thee up to boast: abide now at home; why shouldest thou meddle to thine hurt, that thou shouldest fall, even thou, and Judah with thee?

You say: See, I have struck down Edom, and your heart has lifted you up in boastfulness. But now stay at home. Why should you provoke trouble so that you fall, you and Judah with you?

וְלֹ֤א שָׁמַע֙ אֲמַצְיָ֔הוּ כִּ֤י מֵהָ֣אֱלֹהִ֣ים הִ֠יא לְ֠מַעַן תִּ֡תָּם בְּ֠יַ֡ד כִּ֠י דָ֠רְשׁ֡וּ אֶ֠ת אֱלֹהֵ֡י אֱד֡וֹם׃

KJVBut Amaziah would not hear; for it came of God, that he might deliver them into the hand of their enemies, because they sought after the gods of Edom.

But Amaziah would not listen, for it was of God, in order that he might give them into the hand of their enemies, because they had sought the gods of Edom.

וַ֠יַּ֡עַל יוֹאָ֡שׁ מֶ֠לֶ֠ךְ יִ֠שְׂרָאֵ֡ל וַ֠יִּתְרָא֡וּ פָּנִ֡ים ה֠וּא וַ֠אֲמַצְיָ֡הוּ מֶ֠לֶ֠ךְ יְ֠הוּדָ֡ה בְּ֠בֵ֠ית שֶׁ֠מֶ֡שׁ אֲשֶׁ֣ר לִ֠יהוּדָֽה׃

KJVSo Joash the king of Israel went up; and they saw one another in the face, both he and Amaziah king of Judah, at Bethshemesh, which belongeth to Judah.

So Joash king of Israel went up, and he and Amaziah king of Judah faced one another in battle at Beth-shemesh, which belongs to Judah.

וַ֠יִּנָּגֶ֡ף יְהוּדָ֡ה לִ֠פְנֵ֡י יִשְׂרָאֵ֡ל וַ֠יָּנ֡וּסוּ אִ֠ישׁ לְ֠אֹהָלָֽיו׃

KJVAnd Judah was put to the worse before Israel, and they fled every man to his tent.

And Judah was defeated by Israel, and every man fled to his home.

וְאֶ֠ת אֲמַצְיָ֡הוּ מֶ֠לֶ֠ךְ יְ֠הוּדָ֡ה בֶּ֠ן יוֹאָ֡שׁ בֶּ֠ן יוֹאָחָ֡ז תָּ֠פַ֡שׂ יוֹאָ֡שׁ מֶ֠לֶ֠ךְ יִ֠שְׂרָאֵ֡ל בְּ֠בֵ֠ית שֶׁ֠מֶ֡שׁ וַ֠יְבִ֠יאֵ֡הוּ יְרוּשָׁלַ֡͏ִם וַ֠יִּ֠פְרֹ֡ץ בְּ֠חוֹמַ֡ת יְרוּשָׁלַ֡͏ִם מִ֠שַּׁ֠עַ֠ר אֶפְרַ֡יִם עַ֠ד שַׁ֠עַ֠ר הַ֠פִּ֠נָּ֡ה אַרְבַּ֡ע מֵ֠אוֹת אַמָּֽה׃

KJVAnd Joash the king of Israel took Amaziah king of Judah, the son of Joash, the son of Jehoahaz, at Bethshemesh, and brought him to Jerusalem, and brake down the wall of Jerusalem from the gate of Ephraim to the corner gate, four hundred cubits.

And Joash king of Israel captured Amaziah king of Judah, the son of Joash, son of Ahaziah, at Beth-shemesh, and brought him to Jerusalem and broke down the wall of Jerusalem for 400 cubits, from the Ephraim Gate to the Corner Gate.

וְ֠כָ֠ל הַ֠זָּ֠הָ֡ב וְ֠הַ֠כֶּ֠סֶ֡ף וְ֠כָ֠ל הַ֠כֵּלִ֡ים הַ֠נִּמְצְאִ֡ים בְּ֠בֵ֠ית הָ֠אֱלֹ֠הִ֡ים עִ֠ם עֹ֠בֵ֡ד אֱד֡וֹם וְ֠אֶ֠ת אֹ֠צְר֡וֹת בֵּ֠ית הַ֠מֶּ֡לֶךְ וְ֠אֶ֠ת בְּנֵ֡י הַ֠תַּ֠עֲרֻ֡בוֹת וַ֠יָּ֠שָׁ֡ב שֹׁמְרֽוֹן׃

KJVAnd he took all the gold and the silver, and all the vessels that were found in the house of God with Obededom, and the treasures of the king's house, the hostages also, and returned to Samaria.

And he seized all the gold and silver, and all the vessels that were found in the house of God, and Obed-edom with them; he seized also the treasuries of the king's house, hostages also, and he returned to Samaria.

וַיְחִ֡י אֲמַצְיָ֡הוּ בֶּ֠ן יוֹאָ֡שׁ מֶ֠לֶ֠ךְ יְהוּדָ֡ה אַחֲרֵ֡י מ֠וֹת יוֹאָ֡שׁ בֶּ֠ן יוֹאָחָ֡ז מֶ֠לֶ֠ךְ יִ֠שְׂרָאֵ֡ל חֲ֠מֵ֠שׁ עֶשְׂרֵ֡ה שָׁנָֽה׃

KJVAnd Amaziah the son of Joash king of Judah lived after the death of Joash son of Jehoahaz king of Israel fifteen years.

And Amaziah the son of Joash, king of Judah, lived fifteen years after the death of Joash the son of Jehoahaz, king of Israel.

וְיֶ֣תֶר דִּבְרֵ֡י אֲמַצְיָ֡הוּ הָ֠רִ֠אשֹׁנִ֡ים וְ֠הָ֠אַחֲרֹנִ֡ים הֲלֹ֡א הִנָּ֡ם כְּ֠תוּבִ֡ים עַ֠ל סֵ֠פֶר מַלְכֵ֡י יְ֠הוּדָ֡ה וְ֠יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃

KJVNow the rest of the acts of Amaziah, first and last, behold, are they not written in the book of the kings of Judah and Israel?

Now the rest of the deeds of Amaziah, from first to last, are they not written in the Book of the Kings of Judah and Israel?

וּ֠מֵ֠עֵ֡ת אֲשֶׁ֣ר סָ֠ר אֲמַצְיָ֡הוּ מֵ֠אַחֲרֵ֡י יְהוָ֡ה וַ֠יִּקְשְׁר֡וּ עָ֠לָ֡יו קֶ֠שֶׁ֠ר בִּ֠ירוּשָׁלַ֡͏ִם וַ֠יָּנָ֡ס לָ֠כִ֠ישָׁ֡ה וַ֠יִּשְׁלְח֡וּ אַחֲרָ֡יו לָ֠כִ֠ישָׁ֡ה וַ֠יְמִיתֻ֡הוּ שָֽׁם׃

KJVNow after the time that Amaziah did turn away from following the LORD they made a conspiracy against him in Jerusalem; and he fled to Lachish: but they sent to Lachish after him, and slew him there.

From the time when Amaziah turned away from the LORD they made a conspiracy against him in Jerusalem, and he fled to Lachish. But they sent after him to Lachish and put him to death there.

וַ֠יִּשָּׂא֡וּהוּ עַ֠ל הַ֠סּוּסִ֡ים וַ֠יִּקְבְּר֡וּ אֹ֠ת֡וֹ עִ֠ם אֲבוֹתָ֡יו בְּ֠עִ֡יר יְהוּדָֽה׃
