Y el rey no escuchó al pueblo; porque era una cosa determinada de parte del SEÑOR, para cumplir la palabra que el SEÑOR había hablado por Ahías el silonita a Jeroboam hijo de Nabat.
Wherefore the king hearkened not unto the people; for the cause was from the LORD, that he might perform his saying, which the LORD spake by Ahijah the Shilonite unto Jeroboam the son of Nebat.
וְלֹֽא־שָׁמַ֥ע הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ אֶל־הָעָ֑ם כִּֽי־הָיְתָ֤ה סִבָּה֙ מֵעִ֣ם יְהוָ֔ה לְמַ֜עַן הָקִ֣ים אֶת־דְּבָר֗וֹ אֲשֶׁ֨ר דִּבֶּ֤ר יְהוָה֙ בְּיַד֙ אֲחִיָּ֣ה הַשִּׁילֹנִ֔י אֶל־יָרָבְעָ֖ם בֶּן־נְבָֽט׃
vloʾ-shamaʿ hamelek ʾel-haʿam kiy-haytah sibah meʿim yhvah lmaʿan haqiym ʾet-dbarvo ʾasher diber yhvah byad ʾaḥiyah hashiyloniy ʾel-yarabʿam ben-nbaṭ
