Y en lugar de ellos hizo el rey Roboam escudos de bronce, y los entregó en manos de los capitanes de la guardia, los cuales custodiaban la entrada de la casa del rey.
And king Rehoboam made in their stead brasen shields, and committed {them} unto the hands of the chief of the guard, which kept the door of the king's house. {guard: Heb. runners}
וַיַּ֨עַשׂ הַמֶּ֤לֶךְ רְחַבְעָם֙ תַּחְתָּ֔ם מָגִנֵּ֖י נְחֹ֑שֶׁת וְהִפְקִ֗יד עַל־יַד֙ שָׂרֵ֣י הָרָצִ֔ים הַשֹּׁ֣מְרִ֔ים פֶּ֖תַח בֵּ֥ית הַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃
vayaʿas hamelek rḥabʿam taḥtam maginey nḥoshet vhipqiyd ʿal-yad sharey haraṣiym hashomriym petaḥ beyt hamelek
