Y ellos tomaron el buey que les fue dado y lo prepararon, e invocaron el nombre de Baal desde la mañana hasta el mediodía, diciendo: «¡Baal, respóndenos!» Pero no hubo voz ni quien respondiese. Y andaban saltando alrededor del altar que habían hecho.
And they took the bullock which was given them, and they dressed {it}, and called on the name of Baal from morning even until noon, saying, O Baal, hear us. But {there was} no voice, nor any that answered. And they leaped upon the altar which was made. {hear: or, answer} {answered: or, heard} {leaped...: or, leaped up and down at the altar}
וַ֠יִּקְחוּ אֶת־הַפָּ֨ר אֲשֶׁר־נָתַ֣ן לָהֶם֮ וַֽיַּעֲשׂוּ֒ וַיִּקְרְא֣וּ בְשֵׁם־הַ֠בַּעַל מֵהַבֹּ֨קֶר וְעַד־הַצָּהֳרַ֤יִם לֵאמֹר֙ הַבַּ֣עַל עֲנֵ֔נוּ וְאֵ֥ין ק֖וֹל וְאֵ֣ין עֹנֶ֑ה וַֽיְפַסְּח֔וּ עַל־הַמִּזְבֵּ֖חַ אֲשֶׁ֥ר עָשָֽׂה׃
vayiqḥv ʾet-hapar ʾasher-natan lahem vayaʿasv vayiqrʾv bshem-habaʿal mehaboqer vʿad-haṣahorayim leʾmor habaʿal ʿanenv vʾeyn qvol vʾeyn ʿoneh vaypasḥv ʿal-hamizbeḥa ʾasher ʿashah
