Samuel dijo: «¿Acaso se complace el SEÑOR tanto en los holocaustos y sacrificios como en que se obedezca su voz? He aquí, el obedecer es mejor que los sacrificios, y el prestar atención mejor que la grasa de los carneros.
And Samuel said, Hath the LORD {as great} delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey {is} better than sacrifice, {and} to hearken than the fat of rams.
וַיֹּ֣אמֶר שְׁמוּאֵ֗ל הַחֵ֤פֶץ לַֽיהוָה֙ בְּעֹל֣וֹת וּזְבָחִ֔ים כִּשְׁמֹ֖עַ בְּק֣וֹל יְהוָ֑ה הִנֵּ֤ה שְׁמֹ֙עַ֙ מִזֶּ֣בַח ט֔וֹב לְהַקְשִׁ֖יב מֵחֵ֥לֶב אֵילֽ͏ִים׃
vayoʾmer shmvʾel haḥepeṣ layhvah bʿolvot vzbaḥiym kishmoʿa bqvol yhvah hineh shmoʿa mizebaḥ ṭvob lhaqshiyb meḥeleb ʾeyl͏iym
