Pero al levantarse temprano a la mañana siguiente, vieron que Dagón había vuelto a caer postrado en tierra ante el arca del SEÑOR, y la cabeza de Dagón y las dos palmas de sus manos estaban cortadas sobre el umbral; solo el tronco le quedaba a Dagón.
And when they arose early on the morrow morning, behold, Dagon {was} fallen upon his face to the ground before the ark of the LORD; and the head of Dagon and both the palms of his hands {were} cut off upon the threshold; only {the stump of} Dagon was left to him. {the stump...: or, the fishy part}
וַיַּשְׁכִּ֣מוּ בַבֹּקֶר֮ מִֽמָּחֳרָת֒ וְהִנֵּ֣ה דָג֗וֹן נֹפֵ֤ל לְפָנָיו֙ אַ֔רְצָה לִפְנֵ֖י אֲר֣וֹן יְהוָ֑ה וְרֹ֨אשׁ דָּג֜וֹן וּשְׁתֵּ֣י ׀ כַּפּ֣וֹת יָדָ֗יו כְּרֻתוֹת֙ אֶל־הַמִּפְתָּ֔ן רַ֥ק דָּג֖וֹן נִשְׁאַ֥ר עָלָֽיו׃
