Y todo el pueblo del país entró en el templo de Baal, y lo derribaron; sus altares y sus imágenes rompieron completamente, y a Matán sacerdote de Baal le mataron delante de los altares. Y el sacerdote puso guarda sobre la casa del SEÑOR.
And all the people of the land went into the house of Baal, and brake it down; his altars and his images brake they in pieces thoroughly, and slew Mattan the priest of Baal before the altars. And the priest appointed officers over the house of the LORD. {officers: Heb. offices}
וַיָּבֹ֣אוּ כָל־עַם֩ הָאָ֨רֶץ בֵּית־הַבַּ֜עַל וַֽיִּתְּצֻ֗הוּ אֶת־מזבחתו מִזְבְּחֹתָ֤יו וְאֶת־צְלָמָיו֙ שִׁבְּר֣וּ הֵיטֵ֔ב וְאֵ֗ת מַתָּן֙ כֹּהֵ֣ן הַבַּ֔עַל הָרְג֖וּ לִפְנֵ֣י הַֽמִּזְבְּח֑וֹת וַיָּ֧שֶׂם הַכֹּהֵ֛ן פְּקֻדּ֖וֹת עַל־בֵּ֥ית יְהוָֽה׃
vayaboʾv kal-ʿam haʾareṣ beyt-habaʿal vayitṣuhv ʾet-mzbḥtv mizbḥotayv vʾet-ṣlamayv shibrv heyṭeb vʾet matan kohen habaʿal hargv lipney hamizbḥvot vayashem hakohen pqudvot ʿal-beyt yhvah
