Porque los hijos de Israel pecaron contra el SEÑOR su Dios, que los sacó de la tierra de Egipto, de bajo la mano de Faraón rey de Egipto, y temieron a dioses ajenos,
For {so} it was, that the children of Israel had sinned against the LORD their God, which had brought them up out of the land of Egypt, from under the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and had feared other gods,
וַיְהִ֗י כִּֽי־חָטְא֤וּ בְנֵֽי־יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ לַיהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֵיהֶ֔ם הַמַּעֲלֶ֤ה אֹתָם֙ מֵאֶ֣רֶץ מִצְרַ֔יִם מִתַּ֕חַת יַ֖ד פַּרְעֹ֣ה מֶֽלֶךְ־מִצְרָ֑יִם וַיִּֽירְא֖וּ אֱלֹהִ֥ים אֲחֵרִֽים׃
vayhiy kiy-ḥaṭʾv bney-yishraʾel layhvah ʾeloheyhem hamaʿaleh ʾotam meʾereṣ miṣrayim mitaḥat yad parʿoh melek-miṣrayim vayiyrʾv ʾelohiym ʾaḥeriym
