2 Samuel 19:23

וַיֹּ֣אמֶר דָּוִ֗ד מַה־לִּ֤י וְלָכֶם֙ בְּנֵ֣י צְרוּיָ֔ה כִּי־תִֽהְיוּ־לִ֥י הַיּ֖וֹם לְשָׂטָ֑ן הַיּ֗וֹם י֤וּמַת אִישׁ֙ בְּיִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל כִּ֚י הֲל֣וֹא יָדַ֔עְתִּי כִּ֥י הַיּ֖וֹם אֲנִי־מֶ֥לֶךְ עַל־יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃

vayoʾmer david mah-liy vlakem bney ṣrvyah kiy-tihyv-liy hayvom lshaṭan hayvom yvmat ʾiysh byishraʾel kiy halvoʾ yadaʿtiy kiy hayvom ʾaniy-melek ʿal-yishraʾel

King James Version (KJV)

Therefore the king said unto Shimei, Thou shalt not die. And the king sware unto him.

Modern English

The king said to Shimei, “You will not die.” The king swore to him.
