Y Arauna dijo: «¿Por qué viene mi señor el rey a su siervo?» Y David respondió: «Para comprar de ti la era, a fin de edificar un altar al SEÑOR, para que cese la plaga del pueblo.»
And Araunah said, Wherefore is my lord the king come to his servant? And David said, To buy the threshingfloor of thee, to build an altar unto the LORD, that the plague may be stayed from the people.
וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֲרַ֔וְנָה מַדּ֛וּעַ בָּ֥א אֲדֹנִֽי־הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ אֶל־עַבְדּ֑וֹ וַיֹּ֨אמֶר דָּוִ֜ד לִקְנ֧וֹת מֵעִמְּךָ֣ אֶת־הַגֹּ֗רֶן לִבְנ֤וֹת מִזְבֵּ֙חַ֙ לַֽיהוָ֔ה וְתֵעָצַ֥ר הַמַּגֵּפָ֖ה מֵעַ֥ל הָעָֽם׃
vayoʾmer ʾaravnah madvʿa baʾ ʾadoniy-hamelek ʾel-ʿabdvo vayoʾmer david liqnvot meʿimka ʾet-hagoren libnvot mizbeḥa layhvah vteʿaṣar hamagepah meʿal haʿam
