En el año duodécimo de nuestro cautiverio, en el mes décimo, el día cinco del mes, vino a mí uno que había escapado de Jerusalén, diciendo: «¡La ciudad ha sido tomada!»
And it came to pass in the twelfth year of our captivity, in the tenth {month}, in the fifth {day} of the month, {that} one that had escaped out of Jerusalem came unto me, saying, The city is smitten.
וַיְהִ֞י בִּשְׁתֵּ֧י עֶשְׂרֵ֣ה שָׁנָ֗ה בָּעֲשִׂרִ֛י בַּחֲמִשָּׁ֥ה לַחֹ֖דֶשׁ לְגָלוּתֵ֑נוּ בָּא־אֵלַ֨י הַפָּלִ֧יט מִירוּשָׁלַ֛͏ִם לֵאמֹ֖ר הֻכְּתָ֥ה הָעִֽיר׃
vayhiy bishtey ʿeshreh shanah baʿashiriy baḥamishah laḥodesh lgalvtenv baʾ-ʾelay hapaliyṭ miyrvshala͏im leʾmor huktah haʿiyr
