Entonces los hombres de la ciudad dijeron a Joás: «Saca a tu hijo para que muera, porque ha derribado el altar de Baal y ha cortado la Asera que estaba junto a él.»
Then the men of the city said unto Joash, Bring out thy son, that he may die: because he hath cast down the altar of Baal, and because he hath cut down the grove that {was} by it.
וַיֹּ֨אמְר֜וּ אַנְשֵׁ֤י הָעִיר֙ אֶל־יוֹאָ֔שׁ הוֹצֵ֥א אֶת־בִּנְךָ֖ וְיָמֹ֑ת כִּ֤י נָתַץ֙ אֶת־מִזְבַּ֣ח הַבַּ֔עַל וְכִ֥י כָרַ֖ת הָאֲשֵׁרָ֥ה אֲשֶׁר־עָלָֽיו׃
vayoʾmrv ʾanshey haʿiyr ʾel-yvoʾash hvoṣeʾ ʾet-binka vyamot kiy nataṣ ʾet-mizbaḥ habaʿal vkiy karat haʾasherah ʾasher-ʿalayv
