Joás respondió a todos los que se habían puesto contra él: «¿Vais a abogar vosotros por Baal? ¿Acaso lo vais a salvar? El que abogue por él, que sea muerto al amanecer. Si es un dios, que contienda él mismo, pues alguien ha derribado su altar.»
And Joash said unto all that stood against him, Will ye plead for Baal? will ye save him? he that will plead for him, let him be put to death whilst {it is yet} morning: if he {be} a god, let him plead for himself, because {one} hath cast down his altar.
וַיֹּ֣אמֶר יוֹאָ֡שׁ לְכֹל֩ אֲשֶׁר־עָמְד֨וּ עָלָ֜יו הַאַתֶּ֣ם ׀ תְּרִיב֣וּן לַבַּ֗עַל אִם־אַתֶּם֙ תּוֹשִׁיע֣וּן אוֹת֔וֹ אֲשֶׁ֨ר יָרִ֥יב ל֛וֹ יוּמַ֖ת עַד־הַבֹּ֑קֶר אִם־אֱלֹהִ֥ים הוּא֙ יָ֣רֶב ל֔וֹ כִּ֥י נָתַ֖ץ אֶֽת־מִזְבְּחֽוֹ׃
vayoʾmer yvoʾash lkol ʾasher-ʿamdv ʿalayv haʾatem ׀ triybvn labaʿal ʾim-ʾatem tvoshiyʿvn ʾvotvo ʾasher yariyb lvo yvmat ʿad-haboqer ʾim-ʾelohiym hvʾ yareb lvo kiy nataṣ ʾet-mizbḥvo
